When is everyone planning to go back to conventions, both attending and exhibiting?

Hi All

I can't decide whether or not to attend or exhibit this year. A little nervous about both.

I'd actually love to do a dedicated art exhibition in London to the comic, but feel it may be a little early.

How does everyone else fee?

I'm not planning on attending a con this year (partly because the tickets to my local con are already sold out anyway, and partly because cons are disease buffets at the best of times), and I've never exhibited at one (although I'd like to), but I hope/intend to next year.

Fate destroyed my plans to sell at Comitia and possibly Comiket in 2020, but maybe it'll work out better in 2022? I don't know if Japan will actually be well enough by then to do it though...

I'm going to one in about a month, provided COVID border restrictions or flare-ups don't send it sideways. There's always a slim chance.

It's worth pointing out though, I'm in Western Australia. We snap into a short, sharp lockdown when we have any community transmission. Aside from those few rare occasions, (and not being able to travel,) we've been living as though COVID doesn't exist for almost this entire pandemic.

So yeah, I'm really not worried about attending a con.

I'm debating NYCC this year since it's in October in a PPE friendly cosplay. As long as we have a vaccine for kids by then. Otherwise it might be Katsucon next year

the only con I’m ever really excited about was cancelled so my motivation to go to any has been completely shot.

maybe if we have the opportunity to go to a big fun one we might but I’m not too pressed. Its been nice to save money on con season this past year.

I'd like to go to one as soon as one's available tbh. I'm vaccinated, I live alone (so won't pass the new an improved con plague to my family), and I've been DYING for merch I can only really find at conventions.

I miss cons a ton and had planned to go to two to hype my comic up in 2020 but that went sideways. Now I'm hoping to at least attend one in 2022, but since Imma also be recovering from planning a pretty large wedding, realistically 2023 con season. Well, at least by then I will have a whole lot of backlog to demo XD.

Most of my cons this year would've already passed. Depending how things progress, I'll see how the Fall is looking at the earliest. I'll head to cons more next year (plus it'll give me an excuse to save money cause I will absolutely hit artist alleys and show some love to local artists). I say this as an attendee with some exhibiting exp.
