Where my "True Love on Tapas" Novelists? how are we hanging?

Tell me i'm not the only one who has virtually no nails left to bite from suspense lol.

But honestly, the reception of my novel is going a lot better than I had expected, and I'm so happy so many new people (who are not my family members) are finding and liking my story, and forming emotional connections with my characters. In my eyes, that's a win, and whether the story does much better than this or not, I'm happy I tried for the completion, because if I hadn't, I never would have made this amazing novel, met so many other cool authors, or my new writing partner. So yay me!

What are you happy about? proud of? And how are you feeling about the whole process now that the main body of the challenge is done?

Just happy to have thrown my hat in the ring! Knew I wouldn't win as my stories and Tapas... are not a good fit lol. I wish the best of luck to all the future winners, though! Make sure y'all double and triple read your contracts!

I wish I had a finished draft to work with. Though my novel is a pretty violent horror story with explicit sex so I'm not sure Tapas would accept it for this purpose.

They already picked the winners. They were notified on the 1st, per the rules.

Anyway, it was unexpectedly fun. It kind of reminded me of my fanfic writing days when I'd write a chapter of cringe a day, only I hope my stuff was better quality this time around, lol. Just happy I did better than expected. Plus I got a new story out of it so there's that at least! Just working on building up my little stash of chapters more than I already have for when I start posting again.

according to the zen desk that messaged me, the winners had yet to be decided by the first. but maybe other people got other information? They said that both winners and losers would be informed before Valentine's day, but they had yet to pick the top

That's interesting because the info sheet about the contest said the 1st and people heard winners had already been notified. General opinion is that they've picked the winners but have not messaged the rest of the top 50 because they want to finish signing all of the top 15 in case anyone turns down the contract.

that's what i thought by the sheet too, but i messaged Tapas directly and they said they hadn't picked yet, and will notify both winners and those who weren't selected when they make their decision BEFORE Valentine's day. i think they were running behind schedule or something

Might be they weren't expecting it to be such a close call, but that just makes me more curious about the winners. And here I thought they were just being extra mean and making everyone who didn't win live in suspense until the 14th.

I'm just sad I missed the initial announcement because I had to go out and I was dying to know. But the reveal on insta was pretty cute, with the little comic.

We were actually informed pretty close to the 1st lol but couldnt say anything until the announcement.

After the 1st, it was just to confirm things and make sure people accepted, or it would go to the next person. I have no idea if that happened (people declining the offer).
