This one always made me laugh: "I hate guys like him, I hope that guy isn't the main character... he is a douchebag."

Mind you, we were about 60 pages in and he's featured on the cover. Plus I honestly don't think he had been that dickish at this point?? Kinda interrupted someone and was cocky, but that's about it.

I only recently got my first "rude" comment which was "lol the hands" in response to one of my earlier pages--I didn't really get too heated about it or anything because they're not wrong, LOL! CH1 of my comic is extremely wonky and I've p much accepted any and all criticism, rude or otherwise regarding that part of my comic haha!

A style specific quirk that I have is drawing female characters' chest with a pointed edge--I likely picked this up when doing style studies from artists like Butch Hartman and Lauren Faust, both of whom are huge inspirations to me. I've had some people point out that it can be a jarring stylistic choice in some of my characters which is a totally fair criticism and I intend to explore different ways to go about it to see if it works better, however regarding this, the rudest comment I ever got was, "do you even know how boobs work?" LOL!!

I really don't have an issue with criticism, in fact I'm always actively looking for it!! People can be a little rude for the sake of being rude sometimes though it seems.

I have yet to get a single rude comment, everyone's been super friendly so far! I feel like that could change though if I end up posting my comic on Webtoons, especially with my inconsistent updating time, lol.

Majority of my readers are the sweetest bunch and I love seeing comments/feedback/critques from them... though there is this one guy... I think he enjoy my comic, (thouh he has said he doesn't like either of my main characters) but he makes either the oddest comments or leave statements that are... well rude or simply unnessary. If I make a post celebrating something, he goes and point out a negative, or challenge me on something in the comic to try and make it seem that I've made a mistake.
It's not super obvious, in your face rude though, so I sometimes wonder if he is a troll or he's just not great at talking to people...

Hoo boy. I haven't gotten any rude comments here on Tapastic, but my comic has been online since 2009, so I've had some good ones.

My comic is about the American Revolution but with "battle of the bands". So Britain vs America punk rock. The British aren't the "bad guys", but it's a war so people are going to root for a side. Well, I had a British soldier kick the main character's dog (character development so he can become better) and I get this gem of a comment:

"The British literally kick the dog?
I’ll try and pretend to be surprised.
So here we have a comic by Americans portraying the British as pure evil in order to feel good about themselves and their country.
Again, I’ll try and pretend to be surprised.
Makes me wish we had sent ever more troops to help in Iraq and Afghanistan."

Not much rude comments on my stuff aside from this one: "DO NOT TELL ME THIS IS LGBT ? OR BL?"
(I did get a lot of constructive criticism on my earlier chapters but they're not rude at all).

Though I got a lot of death threats at a certain character in my recent update. I'd personally would feel like shit if those were directed at me /sweats

Well I got a series of comments from a person who pretty much only ever commented to judge my life decisions and push me down. When I mentioned how screwed up the medical system is here in sweden (and across the rest of the world really) when it comes to how they handle trans people, this person just slapped my face with "the waiting for transition SHOULD be really long". Mind you this was during a time that it was well known my shitty situation brought me to suicidal thoughts. It was the last thing I needed to hear in that moment, and certainly not something the huge amount of trans people in my audience needed to see. I confronted them about it, and they straight up told me they just dislike transgender transitions and piercings/body modifications (oh yes. They judged me for my lip piercings too.)

I don't get comments from this person anymore, thank god. It was the only time I had to straight up tell a person I wanted them to stop coming around for my comics and that I would block them if I could. As I said, I have a lot of transgender readers, I can't have transphobic people hanging out in the comments.

Thankfully my rudest comment wasn't bashing my comic, they were just acting like an entitled prick.
"I'm getting fucking tired of these short updates. THIS IS BULLSHIT!"

I was not afraid to chew them out. Oh man did I chew them out. They apologized and said they were just having a bad day, but damn. There's a good chunk of Webtoons readers who don't think of us as human beings who have lives that can get in the way of comic making.

My worst comment has to be this one that quoted some identities I featured and then said:
"Jesus f**king christ you are cancer."

Someone also recently told me "f**k you go to hell" because I posted the Tipping announcement!
...Which I found simultaneously offensive and funny because neither Tap or I are requiring anyone to tip creators! Lol

it was in a forum tho and not on my actual comic. and to be faaaiiir one of my main characters is kinda unlikeable so ya got me there homeslice. but i really liked that they cared this much to say that haha
