I've pretty much always worked out. I lean towards chubby and have all my life. At one time I was dancing (professionally) but also doing karate and training for bodybuilding competition.
Through the years that all tapered off and just maintenance type stuff now. I can't go to a gym because I over challenge myself (I used to bench press my body weight and the highest free weight leg press was 250) and end up injured (ripped hamstring, blown elbow)
I found a group on youtube called "All Blanc" and they've got a host of good exercises that can be modified if you have to.
Right now I stupidly injured myself doing some sword fight choreography for my fantasy novels so I'm down for a couple of weeks. Otherwise I work out about an hour a day 7 days a week.
