Tabitha held onto Jack's hand as Barrett tried the door, which was unlocked.
There was a man sitting at a desk inside. He looked up at the sound of the door opening, furrowing his brow when he saw the group. He said something in German as they entered, standing up from his seat.
The whirring sound was coming from one of the broken robots. Somehow it had activated when the group had entered the storage room, its eyes glowing a soft golden brown. Shakily, it forced itself up from its spot leaning against a nearby box, the mechanical noises becoming louder. It stumbled around for a few seconds, looking like it was trying to make sense of where it was.
Upon closer inspection, the group would have been able to see that the robot was missing an arm. It groaned, swaying in place, when it finally caught sight of everyone standing near the crates... and then proceeded to scream incoherently and nearly tumble over backwards.
The group was shrouded in darkness as they made their way through the hole in the vault door. The vault was dimly lit, like the last room. But, just like the hangar back in the London factory, it was huge as well.
And sure enough, if the group squinted through the darkness, they would have been able to see the faint silhouette of a Titan standing some distance away.
"They really are here, too," Callahan said quietly. "The exact same weapons... being built in an enemy factory."
