Equal parts fun, audience building, & side-gig.
Fun is my primary motivator- drawing and comics are a hobby first and foremost and so I make sure to tackle projects that keep it fun, and if it stops being fun then I simply take a break.
That said, I have been pouring the type of time and effort into it over the last few years that somewhat exceeds "just for fun" and that is because I do quite like the idea of building an audience (not just on Tapas, but in general) and find that process fun in its own way.
I don't ever see art and comics becoming my primary income but I do quite like the idea of having my art generate some supplemental income at some point
Tapas has been fantastic for that already with the ink system! Thanks to numerous highly generous people I already made way more by posting my 1st comic than I ever could have expected. To this end I've also been working on diversifying my content some, from trying to build up general art social media presence to recently taking a swing at live streaming and video creation.
Above all else though, it all circles back to everything being an enjoyable set of hobbies~
