A Studio TRIGGER take on the "Trapped in an MMO" genre would be awesome, actually.

Huh, I wonder who’s fault is that. If only the App Store was run and moderated by people with the power to decide what content is available on the store and for whom.

This "app store" excuse makes no sense. I just checked on Webtoons and I can find all the kisses, sorry.

They're a much bigger platform and generates the app stores more money. They might be affected later down the line but it's my guess apple doesn't care to bother with them to such an extent since they're such a money-maker.

Till now they adopted the same rules, even before Tapas, tho. Tapas isnt a small platform, even tho isnt as big as WT.

Tapas might be the first since we have novels and WT doesn't. Who knows how apple operates their audits and what provokes them in the first place.

But honestly I highly doubt this is Tapas' plan, because shadowbanning an innocent word like Kiss from the app search is just shooting themselves in the foot.

They dont have novels, but they have wattpad, and the kisses are alright, there. And shooting themselves on the foot is something tapas does every now and then.

I almost snorted my instant noodles while reading this, thank you for making me laugh

Wattpad is also a big money-maker for app stores I reckon. It's like those awful obscene ads that play on youtube and apps where the content surely doesn't follow guidelines imposed on creators, but the ads make money and so get a pass.

And I'm not saying Tapas hasn't made mistakes in the past, but this decision would just be illogical on Tapas' end considering Kiss it Better is one of the biggest novels on the platform.

I researched some smaller apps, as well. 3, till now. One for WebComics app's novels, other for "Popink" and one solely for officially translated danmei (chinese BL). Got them all in apple store, and all have their 'kisses' operating well, in spite of the usual chinese censorship.

Btw, I haven't found anything official about this ban in apple store anywhere.

let's see, then. (writing gibberish to reach the 20 characters limit, arrr!)

It's the best route. I just get upset when those platforms lure authors, grab their IP then throw them on the trashcan because reasons. But hey! Living and learning!

@aqua03 Right? That would actually be pretty sick given how well they do action, and how fun their anime is overall.

@AxemanRifflord Yeah, it's the same problem with adult and mature content creators all over the internet anymore. There's widespread puritan bans and restrictions going around with a "Think of the Children!" narrative. I get there are issues with kids being able to access that stuff, but outright disallowing things that could be considered inappropriate (Like kissing, apparently.) doesn't really solve the problem. Kids will still find adult/mature stuff, but corps don't care about that, banning is the easiest, cheapest and quickest solution for them.

It would be nice of if Apple had a feature for mature apps where they're hidden until you make an account with your age, or if Apple allowed Tapas to have a hidden feature on the app for mature comics and novels so people have to sign in and (privately) share their age to see them. Sure, that's not a perfect solution, but it makes more sense than bs like shadowbanning popular words.

@Zugaikotsu Yeah... I probably would too.

Absolutely. Get Hiroyuki Imaishii on board and we've got a sure fire masterpeice of a neon colored sugar rush to be made!

Hey! It could be about a cougar and her 20-30 year old boyfriend whom she calls a boy because he's half her age.
