Why does every BL or yaoi story seems to be told in uke's pov?

This is just something I've been wondering out of nowhere. Sometimes, I would also like to know what the seme is thinking.. unfortunately I always get it on the extra chapters

Most of those stories are targeted at women. Uke’s are usually designed to be ambiguous when it comes to their gender. In some cases, the uke will even look like a tomboy or an androgynous boy. It’s so that female readers can project themselves onto the character if they wanted to.

In Japan most have been published in magazines for women so it makes sense to make the pov character the one your reader is more likely to find relatable and in the rest of the world if someone puts a tag BL or Yaoi on their work they've most likely been inspired at least to some degree by those Japanese ones
From what I've noticed, if you go for works with more mature (or at least mature looking) characters you're more likely to get one from top's perspective or just switching between the two

I assume the same reason most horror stories are told from the perspective of the victims: It's more surprising and exciting that way. ^^;

I agree with the people who said it's because it's more relatable for the female public. And sometimes the seme has this ~mysterious aura~ and stuff like that xD And usually the uke is more emotional so it has more things to write about, I guess? But to be fair, that's something I never thought about, on mine the pov switchs so much between all the characters that it's obvious I never noticed a pattern before.
