It's a little bit of a problem for me too, but I don't mind it too much. I can easily split episodes and there doesn't seem to be a limit to how many episodes one series can have. Sometimes the 2nd part of the episodes get scheduled for release before the first one vy accident, but it's just a quick fix.
Croppy makes it easy to split and compress episodes anyway.
I think it works in Tapas's favor, honestly. Short, 1-5 paged episodes are the norm here and typically are the ones that get popular (unless you're a tapas exclusive), but it is a different case in Webtoons - where readers prefer longer episodes (I suspect this is because Canvas readers are more used to the Webtoon Originals, where the authors are obliged to create 50+ panels for each ep, but there are readers who don't mind short episodes at all) and typically get more popular, thus a larger file limit.
Edit: I also read some of the comments above - short comics aren't just comedy/slice-of-life comics! Plenty are story-driven, like romance, horror, and fantasy comics! Matter of fact, one of my favorites on WT (but is also on Tapas) is The Dummy's Dummy, and follows a standard comic format (AKA not scrolling, basically, the format you find in comic books and graphic novels) with 3-5 pages per update. It's great and I encourage everyone to read it. Sometimes short comics work for other artists, but others (like me and I assume you, OP) are fine doing long comics because of simpler styles, more free time and/or faster drawing time. And there's always an audience for both!
