No as a business you can't afford to lose any creator at all.
Sure there is adblock on desktop platforms, and some mobile web browsers have pretty good ad blocking built in.
The only platform they have control over is their App, which like you said may not bring much revenue.
Things behind a paywall gets taken and hosted for free on those pirate megasites, I really doubt they make that much.
But like I mentioned one creator can have a huge impact, and those 60,000 creators didn't just appear out of thin air.
The site started with one or a few creators, and have only accumulated so many over the years.
If Tapas have even more creators, instead of losing them to other competitors, don't you think Tapas would be a better place overall?
Chiefly, if Tapas become even more financially successful due to talented new creators, then the other lesser known or lesser successful ones will benefit from Tapas.
With more money in their pockets, Tapas would be able to offer better services or promotions to their creators.
