Alright, a few comics from the newer posts. Those are my personal opinions, take them with a big grain of salt! I'm probably going to focus on visuals, sorry I find it hard to judge the story or characters when I've only read a small part of the comic. To be fair, in all cases the bottom line will be probably "It's just not my thing", but I will comment on things that stood out to me.
@Kiskia You have a LOT of characters introduced here. I know I'd have a hard time remembering their names, much less all the trivial info about them, until they actually appear in the story and do something notable, so this way of introducing characters does not work for me.
Hm, the art in your comic itself somewhat surprised me in being lineart only... I mean, this can work, but not at this level of line quality or detail, sadly. I think an easy way to make it more visually interesting would be to at least fill some areas with monochrome values, so the reader can get more of a sense of the world the characters are in.
@NinaHah The cover pages are quite jarring with their difference in style, I don't know what to think of that.
The way you use panels is pretty neat, I think what you choose to depict in panels also feels natural most of the time. Compared to these pages from the older version, which are totally overloaded and much less readable, I think it's a vast improvement.
However, dialogue is still placed rather awkwardly in the speech bubbles. When there's dialogue without the bubbles, I can still follow it, but it can get awkward for example here https://tapas.io/episode/1524089 in the top panels. Also character anatomy is often quite inconsistent and awkward.
(points for 2009 setting and gadu-gadu, btw. I personally appreciate those little details.)
It doesn't seem immediately obvious how the synopsis and the plot of the comic are related at all, which I know can bother some people, I personally find it tolerable, but also it doesn't interest me that much.
@sc101 The first few pages seem overall quite blurry?
The text bubbles could use improvement, the text is placed awkwardly in them and I don't get what's with the inconsistent fonts. Also here https://tapas.io/episode/1621436 this black text is not very readable; I can read it but it doesn't look good or clear.
The backgrounds are really simplistic, and all those saturated colors placed together are kind of eye-straining to look at. The art is overall quite inconsistent, like with character proportions and details, but it's the kind of thing that has potential to improve in a long run.
The story could be interesting but so far it's hard to say anything about it, there just isn't enough to it. Not a bad comic imo, and def could develop in a good direction but I don't find it that interesting.
@Boyle The art looks extremely flat, everything looks like a cardboard cutout rather than a 3D object with depth, and the shading doesn't do much to help that. The text is in most panels too small. Overall the art isn't very readable, the combination of thick lines on everything and little detail doesn't really work for me.
I see this is a slice of life comedy with a healthy dose of absurdity, which isn't something I dislike, but also this comic doesn't really grab me.
Anyone?
