Will Tapas be affected by the KOSA bill if it gets passed?

This isn’t a comic question, but I’ve been worrying if Tapas (and Webtoons) will get like shut down or something if the KOSA bill somehow gets passed. This might be a dumb question sorry

considering the fact that legal experts have pointed out the ways it infringes upon first amendment rights and other privacy laws i'm hoping it fails like it did in 2022

I’m not just worried about my own works but others too.

What does this new bill exactly mean and if it does become a law who will it affect and which country is this taking place?

All Tapas or Webtoons would have to do is put a wall to block minors from accessing mature content. It's not that big of a deal.

Oh alright. But what about LGBTQ+ stuff in non mature comics? Will those be taken down?

If it's just two people of the same sex that is a story about something else, expect no change. If its specifically about their relationship you might find some pushback. For the most part, the bill says you have to have some type of parental controls to block content. So being blocked will be up to a minors parents, not Tapas or Webtoons.

This looks a lot like COPPA but they are trying to increase the age from 12 to 16. Teens are smart, some smarter than their parents when it comes to tech, I think that most teens are going to find a loophole. Or they will have lax parents that don't care.

I feel like this bill just reinforces those awful helicopter karen parents who think that watching TikTok makes kids trans.

I can see that most websites will just do what happened with the revamp of COPPA and just increase the age on the TOS.
