Worst Comic Book Movie Adaptations?

With Fox's third attempt at making a Fantastic 4 movie being both a critical and commercial fantastic FLOP at the box office, it harkens back to the era of comic book movie adaptations where some studios and directors did not care whatsoever and instead made the most minimal attempt at making a comic book movie just to get some of that sweet box office cash that comic book movies are generally known for. Anyway, the question is simple, what are some of the worst comic book movies ever made that are just as bad as the 2015 F4 reboot if not worse?

My personal vote would be for 2004's Catwoman in which the character is "Catwoman" in name only. i.e she's a meek intern at a make up company instead of the sultry and sassy cat burglar who regularly performs robberies and bank heists. Rule number 1 of making a comic book movie adaptation is to GET THE CHARACTER RIGHT (along with the source material). Halle Berry's a decent actor give or take, but even she despises her role in this film and because of how bad Catwoman performed at the box office, female led superhero movies have been a no-go despite fans of say Black Widow from Marvel's Cinematic Universe begging father Fiege for a solo film of everyone's favorite assassin. Heck, Wonder Woman will first appear as a side character of sorts in next year's Batman VS Superman movie before (hopefully) getting her own solo film.

First of all its Fant4stic, because some idiot decided to put the 4 in the middle. The worst adaptation has to be Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3. Yuck

I don't like the last two Asterix movies they did. In fact, I only like the second adaptation, because I don't like the first one either. I love Mission Cleopatra. I didn't see the adaptation of Boule et Bill, but given to the actors, I won't give it much credits. And the films about the Smurfs. Meh.

But if you want to talk about american comic books, it's just what you said.
The only thing I can enjoy about Catwoman the movie is the review the Nostalgia Critic did. XD

heh....I don't really know the worst adaptation movie since I didn't really read the comics, but I do know enough about the original characters that I get angry when they change them for the movies. For example, Rogue from Xmen. Her original comic and cartoon appearances, she kept the powers she borrowed. She didn't have the ability for a few minutes, it was permanent (she still hated her power, but it was a permanent thing, not a temporary thing, and she wouldn't have gotten rid of her power with the 'cure'.)

That's kind of my pet peeve is when they get the characters wrong, not necessarily the entire movie (if they get the whole movie wrong then it's something to laugh at and never watch again, not something to get mad over)

Funny thing about bad comic book movies is that that was the thing that got me interested in comics. Such like the FF films, X-men and Spiderman. But I was really underwhelmed by Green lantern. And the only thing it did wrong for me was that I found it boring.

thinking about a movie that i have seen all the way through (i haven't watched Catwoman all the way through) I think that is between Ghostrider 2 and Batman and Robin, but at least they in some crazy sick way i get some humor from these terrible movies

Batman and Robin is kind of enjoyable if you utterly turn off your brain and accept it as the incredibly campy cheese-fest that it is.

Now I haven't seen it, but there's the 1994 Fantastic Four movie, which was so bad it wasn't even released.

Batman and Robin is fun to watch if only to snark at how kiddy it is.

As for the unreleased 90's Fantastic Four movie, at least they got Doctor Doom right.

Meanwhile at FOX, they've managed to mess up him...TWICE.

That one was actually so bad that I kind of like it. (I'm a sucker for bad movies)
I actually think the 1990 Captain America movie was TERRIBLE. Also I personally think that Batman and Robin was pretty bad. But does no one honestly remember the early 90's Fantastic Four movie, that one was pretty awful as well.

That be the first Hulk. Whoever was making this movie was either on drugs or wanted to replicate the feeling of it. Too surreal and weird, other than the cool concept that Bruce's Father's powers were absorbtion of anything. Other than that, poop.

Other than some of the awful movies already named in the previous comments, Howard the Duck and The Spirit comes to mind.

I can watch and even enjoy a bad film every once in a while (including the ones I named above) and I'm usually willing to watch a movie before judging it, but Catwoman, the first Hulk and Fant4stic are the only ones that look so horrible to me just from the trailers that I've never watched them and I never will.

Daredevil the movie was bad, but I like the new series.

Um...actually, Rogue has always only kept the powers she borrows for a few minutes. The only exception was Ms. Marvel's (Carol Danvers) powers, which became permenant. And that is how she was originally portrayed. In fact, absorbing Carol Danvers personality along with her powers is what turned her from villain to hero.

Actually, that was the FOURTH attempt, and I nominate the first attempt, which was the Roger Corman Fantastic Four as the worst comic book movie of all time.

The latest Fantastic 4 was abysmal. It's easily one of the dullest, blandest, least involved films I've ever sat through. Not just nobody looked like they wanted to be in that movie, but they didn't have any chemistry at all. They were complete strangers to each other.
