Worst fear, snakes or spiders?

Most spiders don't scare me, the only snakes that scare me are the Mambas, cause I don't want to die. But have you ever heard of the centipede? Lemme tell you friend. it's terrifying 100+ legs... ugh.

Snakes are far scarier. I grew up in Arizona which is home of the diamondback as well as other venomous snakes. We were prepped in school about wildlife safety.

Spiders, I'm not scared of. Mostly because they mind their own business and usually don't purposely hunt out people. I had times where I've seen a black widow and just stood there observing it for awhile. I strongly activate that people don't kill spiders, instead move them outside. They help control the mosquito population, a bug that does purposely go after humans.

I had particularly bad encounter with centipede, I once woke up to 30 cm centipede in my room like almost right beside my bed. Not to mention another one... Ugh I don't wanna remember.

They're fast and move unpredictably. Some of them are dangerous too and can pack a painful bite. One of my friend was bitten by one when was a child, and she said it was excruciating she'd rather die instead. She vowed to kill every centipede she found whenever she's able to.

Enough talking about centipede then, I'm feeling paranoid.

My grandma lived next to this area which she calls "snake pit", my brothers once saw a coral snake there and freaked out. I guess it depends where you live.

Ah, I guess so ..but either way, that's a bad on me for forgetting that not everyone lives in the city away from wildlife lol and even so, wildlife might just pop in every once in a while so there's that too. Actually, you might encounter snakes while hiking or traveling too so like yeah.. damn, I wanna take back my first comment now xD

I wanna make an addition, sounds ridiculous but goose.
Yes geese, they're used as replacement of guard dog here. They're noisy as fuck, territorial, sensitive as hell that one wrong move they'll relentlessly chase-fly to you, and it feels like they're chasing you to enjoy your fear. I would think twice befor visiting someone who has geese.

And if those don't convince you enough:

Oh, also nobody mentioned cockroach? All cockroach, even the Madagascar hissing cockroach is gross. I seriously question the mental health of someone who think it's acceptable as a pet.

Wow I never realized how many good choices their are for awful animals XD honestly I was in the mindset of pets so I was waiting for someone to say “rats” or “ants” but a lot of these are pretty bad.

We have palmedo bugs down here which if you ask me are the same thing but a lot of people still think it’s fine and not a big deal to have them in their homes XD I can’t stand sleeping over a friends place if I know they’re infested

I voted spiders because I can touch a snake, but while I'm not too scared of spiders, the idea of touching one makes me uncomfortable.

My worst fear are wasps and hornets, to the point I can't even stand looking at the pictures of those for too long, but luckily, haven't heard of a lot of people keeping them as a pet. xD

Like... wasp is an aggressive little sh*t, which stings and hornet is like a wasp on steroids. One summer I spent some time in more bug friendly part of the country and they had back there some serious wasp problem. They were everywhere in big flocks. You couldn't even open a window without at least one flying inside. D:

Definitely spiders. Snakes are cute, hard to hate them, even if they are venomous. ._.

SPIDERS, on the other hand.... I've had a couple of bad experiences. I once opened up a letter (I mean like a real life email) and not ONE..... but TWO. TWO DEAD SPIDERS came flying out at me. I screamed and threw the letter as far as I could, which wasn't very far because it's paper.

When I worked at a small shop, it had a very tiny bathroom. Well, one day I did my business, went to go flush, looked in the toilet.... and there was a spider just chilling IN THE BOWL of the toilet, not far from where precious, sensitive areas just were...

I will live with spiders if they stay in their own area. Like the corner of the bathroom or ceiling. Okay, I'm not going to go there, fine. But as soon as they start moving around and coming into my area, that is when our deal is over.

Not too fond of spiders and we don't really have dangerous snakes where we live, however scorpions creep me out sooo much. They're like spiders, but with a stinging tail!
I'm always paranoid about them whenever we go to Mexico.

we used to catch spiders and make em fight with each other when i was a kid so meh

ive seen em held em and had one wrap around my neck , it was a zoo attraction so i wasnt that scared

i voted other - my worst fear is the OCEAN!

i know how to swim but when i imagine myself in the middle of the ocean and not knowing whats below...

None, I love both. I only have a prudent respect for the dangerous ones, but no fear.

I own a tarantula! Can safely say that a snakes more dangerous. Still love snakes though, just make sure to respect both of them and you won't get yourself hurt. Animals are so wonderful I want all of them.

I think... spiders are cute >///<. And snakes are cool! I can't say I fear either one, although of course I wouldn't recklessly let myself get bitten by a poisonous one XD

Scorpions, on the other hand, are a little trigger-happy with those tails of theirs. Usually I just pick up spiders to move them outside and I've never been bitten, but go anywhere close to a scorpion and they just keep attacking.

Mosquitoes also suck (no pun intended lol). If I see one inside I'll drop everything and hunt it down before it bites me. Usually it bites me anyway and that's how I find it.

The most painful bug I've ever encountered was a saddleback caterpillar. It looks like this:

I accidentally grabbed one while pulling up corn stalks once. Ouchies. Was paranoid about touching anything outside for a while after that.

I don't actually dislike any of them though. Poor things just wanna live. It's not their fault nature made them into such abominations XD

Yeah no. Whenever I see spiders I freeze in my tracks and can’t move for a while. I used to make fun of my brother for doing high pitched screams whenever he saw them, but now I totally understand... burn them with fire

That thing looks scary. Reminds me of those white fuzzy caterpillars that sting and leave a rash. Accidentally leaned against a giant one and man did it sting.

I have snakes so those aren't scary in the least for me. Spiders I've always disliked enough to avoid the room I found one in but never enough to kill. I'm actually warming up to them a little bit.
I don't think I really have an animal fear/hatred. They all have both cute sides and scary sides.
