Most of my experienc is in writing. I've written scripts for movies and skits and comics, but majority of my work is books novels and the like.
I have a degree in graphic design, so I believe I have a grasp on visual art, but it hasn't been my main tool for a while.
I've taken on the challenge of creating a comic though. It's my first time taking on something like this without any help so im not naive enough to think it's anything perfect. However I think I've crossed quite a few bridges and now im curios what actual comic creators might think.
I should let you know im not a character artist, but I've worked on several character, so my character work is limited. The same can be said for backgrounds. But I think I manipulate the two well. At least I hope I do lol.
In any case ill give a bit of background info on the comic. You don't need any of this information to go into it, but if you feel like giving any feedback on the story but don't know where it's going I'd like to share some of what led to what you see.
Feel free to just skip to the link below if you don't feel like all the background though. I know I can be long winded lol.

My story comes from a specific epiphany I had. I can't speak for everyone, but my experience in dating has been odd at times. There's a lot of shallowness. But surprisingly, it's not only by those who are the most traditionally attractive. Everyone is shallow in some regard, even the ugliest of people. And it's both ironic yet consistent in the worst way. I've experienced it more in dating (or trying to date) guys since I typically date guys. But it has also been true in a lot of times I've dated women. On one hand, these people are hyper-critical of their flaws and want to be loved. But on the other hand, they find almost any reason not to give another person a chance. And this goes beyond looks after a certain point. I'd even say appearance is the most basic example.
Plot-
The Plug-In is a story about people who are afraid or hate their imperfections but long to find connection despite the standards they hold themselves and others to.
The main character is a guy starved of connection and more than ready to love almost anyone. But he'll go through relationship after relationship because his partners all but force him to. Each arch will have him find, date, and eventually break up with a new guy.
He's willing to overlook most mutations and odd looks, but then it becomes a game of figuring out what his partner's inner flaws are or his partner is trying to overlook his.
The comic is just now getting past its first sort of checkpoint story-wise, so it's still a little early for much of this stuff. However, you might have liked to know what is being built up to.
Share your opinions, thoughts, or feelings and feel free to also promote your comics. I'd love to see what you guys are working on. Anyone who leaves a comment I'll try to do the same. I really appreciate any help you can provide, so thanks in advance.
