Oct 2017

I just gathered the guts to start posting my writing alongside my comics, so that's where I'm at right now. Used to try and sell Ebooks, but that wasn't working too well, so I was like whatever I'll post it for free and see where it goes. I'm just building writing foundation lol.

I haven't mentioned it here much, but I wrote a superhero story called Hero's Dilemma, and am now working on the sequel/spin-off, Prism's Journey.

I'm planning to barf words as much as I possibly can come NaNoWriMo. (Anyone else doing NaNo this year?)
But that will be a new project, unrelated to Hero's Dilemma.

I just recently decided to participate in NaNoWriMo. I have a story that I've been working on for a long while, ( I haven't actually posted here yet. I'm new) But instead of using that story, I'm going to work on a fairly new idea that popped up in my head and see how that goes.

Plotting is so much fun! I'm plotting out one of my stories, too =)

I know Predator, but I don't know what Seven Samurai is. Either way, the mention of Predator got me interested.

It's the Akira Kurosawa movie that inspired The Magnificent Seven, A Bug's Life, Galaxy Quest, and many others. The 1954 film is in black-and-white but it feels very much like a modern action flick.

@Eleven_MA The website is Writing.com. It's a private site that requires a paid membership to get more features. Honestly, it's the only writing website I've found that's like a true writing site.

There is no competition for reads, likes, and subs. It's purely about the writing. When I focused on that website, my writing actually improved. Since I don't have many subs or anyone to review my work here, I decided to be active on Writing.com again.

I already completed one writing assignment and found three horror writing contests to enter. ^___^

You shouldn't feel bad about getting noticed =)

It's always good when readers notice your work. When I got New & Noteworthy, it was an exciting time.

Good luck!!!

If I find anything interesting, I may try submitting a short story

My problem is rejection scares me =(

Since about 2009-ish to October last year I hadn't been doing a lot of writing. I'd come up with ideas for new projects, get a lot of ground work done, feel bad for neglecting old stories, begin to re-read old stories, become overwhelmed with the amount of unfinished projects... and then stop writing again. It has been very stressful and frustrating. I did a lot of work with my sister, we wrote a script for a movie we were going to submit to a contest, but didn't get it done in time. Then we re-wrote it and were going to film it ourselves with family and friends. Actually on its' many forms we always had some scenes that weren't complete, but notes on what was suppose to happen. Anyway, now we're going over the 3-4 versions of the script and turning it into a radio drama we want to do and post on YouTube.
Then for my ASL club at college we hosted a couple of murder mystery nights. I wrote the scripts for them (yay, two finished stories in less than a year!) and the events were more like plays where the whole room was our stage and we had conversations with the audience. It did a LOT to re energize my creativity.
So now I'm working on

-scifi radio drama with my sister
- posting 2 of my old online comics over here while re-writing them into novels (shojo manga style stories)
-editing a script for a shojo manga style story that I didn't have an artist for
-editing a fantasy/fair tale-ish comic that I lost my co-writer and artist to. I'm making a lot more changes with this story, had to replace 2 main characters so I wasn't using the characters my co-writer created.

I was really hyped yesterday and this morning, but now I'm feeling really drained and not as confident with the list of deadlines. I may need to reconsider how often I want to update each one. I've done a lot of writing in the last 3 days, so I'm happy with that.
I wouldn't mind do a collaborative story with someone, but I would prefer it be with one of the Shojo stories.

Very new to Tapas and the phenomenon of 'Artists seeking writers' Have a few stories a one which I've self published and three others needing editing. Also trying to re-tool my stories to maybe being made into comics. Anyone know where I can find a guide for that and maybe comic book layout, that would be nice.

@Akaluv89 You shouldn't be afraid of rejection. Make rejection afraid of you.

@eworks01 have you considered walking away from your old stuff entirely? I put most of my old works to the torch and let me tell you, it's a weight off my mind.

@prophetdee226 What you need is the Scott McCloud trilogy my dude.

Joe, there are some stories I've tossed out. I don't want to torch most of them. I love the characters too much and I want the satisfaction of finishing their stories.

I could've sworn that I posted to this earlier. Hey guys! I wish you all the best in your writing endeavors and hope that you can achieve everything you're looking to. As for writing projects, the most recent thing that I have is The Writing Paradox2 ! It's something I came up with quickly and now I'm working with it slowly.

I have an idea that's been bugging me.
I have a sci-fi trilogy I want to finish writing (Star Trek/Star Wars meeting Yuri on Ice)
Also I want to write more fanfiction
AND start a new series!

But for now I'm working on edits. :joy:
