Oct 2017

Since about 2009-ish to October last year I hadn't been doing a lot of writing. I'd come up with ideas for new projects, get a lot of ground work done, feel bad for neglecting old stories, begin to re-read old stories, become overwhelmed with the amount of unfinished projects... and then stop writing again. It has been very stressful and frustrating. I did a lot of work with my sister, we wrote a script for a movie we were going to submit to a contest, but didn't get it done in time. Then we re-wrote it and were going to film it ourselves with family and friends. Actually on its' many forms we always had some scenes that weren't complete, but notes on what was suppose to happen. Anyway, now we're going over the 3-4 versions of the script and turning it into a radio drama we want to do and post on YouTube.
Then for my ASL club at college we hosted a couple of murder mystery nights. I wrote the scripts for them (yay, two finished stories in less than a year!) and the events were more like plays where the whole room was our stage and we had conversations with the audience. It did a LOT to re energize my creativity.
So now I'm working on

-scifi radio drama with my sister
- posting 2 of my old online comics over here while re-writing them into novels (shojo manga style stories)
-editing a script for a shojo manga style story that I didn't have an artist for
-editing a fantasy/fair tale-ish comic that I lost my co-writer and artist to. I'm making a lot more changes with this story, had to replace 2 main characters so I wasn't using the characters my co-writer created.

I was really hyped yesterday and this morning, but now I'm feeling really drained and not as confident with the list of deadlines. I may need to reconsider how often I want to update each one. I've done a lot of writing in the last 3 days, so I'm happy with that.
I wouldn't mind do a collaborative story with someone, but I would prefer it be with one of the Shojo stories.

Very new to Tapas and the phenomenon of 'Artists seeking writers' Have a few stories a one which I've self published and three others needing editing. Also trying to re-tool my stories to maybe being made into comics. Anyone know where I can find a guide for that and maybe comic book layout, that would be nice.

@Akaluv89 You shouldn't be afraid of rejection. Make rejection afraid of you.

@eworks01 have you considered walking away from your old stuff entirely? I put most of my old works to the torch and let me tell you, it's a weight off my mind.

@prophetdee226 What you need is the Scott McCloud trilogy my dude.

Joe, there are some stories I've tossed out. I don't want to torch most of them. I love the characters too much and I want the satisfaction of finishing their stories.

I could've sworn that I posted to this earlier. Hey guys! I wish you all the best in your writing endeavors and hope that you can achieve everything you're looking to. As for writing projects, the most recent thing that I have is The Writing Paradox2 ! It's something I came up with quickly and now I'm working with it slowly.

I have an idea that's been bugging me.
I have a sci-fi trilogy I want to finish writing (Star Trek/Star Wars meeting Yuri on Ice)
Also I want to write more fanfiction
AND start a new series!

But for now I'm working on edits. :joy:

You have a long list there, but I'm sure you'll be able to manage it all. I feel as writers we get knee deep in projects, but we can't spread ourselves too thin.

I wish you the best =)

That would be the dream one day, @joe_galindez. I have my goal set on being a published writer, and I'm trying hard.

It's gotten to the point where I'll stay up late, write stories to submit, and then just pass out =(

I hope this writing thing pays off.

I have written a Disney fanfiction, which can be found on Wattpad and now I'm trying to write a Studio Ghibli fanfiction.

All projects I'm doing is WIP @_@

I currently have a handful of series I'm working on, plus a roleplay. I also have some stories I'm currently brainstorming as well.

It's going to be a long ride

Im doing well(?) I think. Im sort of preparing for NaNoWriMo and its my sixth time participating. Just trying to get my story inline so when I write, I know what I'll write. Unlike some stories cough cough freedom cough cough

I just started posting a story I'm working on! I haven't written this much in ages but the characters won't let me rest, lol. It's about a developing poly relationship between three friends who have a lot of other stuff going on in their lives. Representation across a variety of identities is really important to me, so there's a lot of that in there! :sunflower:

Always nice to see more sci-fi @alexandraperchanidou . I've been struggling with large personal writing projects and using Tapas to get smaller, more manageable stories written. It's the best I can do to stop myself from alienating myself from my own writing from self-imposed pressure.

OMG my book is trending! Sorry for just barging in, but I'm so excited! I'm so happy! I think this is the first time it's in trending! Woohoo!

@williamjbowles I'm doing NaNo, too! I'll open a NaNo thread on the forum, I wonder how many others from Tapas are participating this year  Good luck with your story!
EDIT: Nope, someone else has been faster! There's already a NaNo thread here: https://forums.tapas.io/t/nanowrimo-2017-megathread/205861 (How the heck did I miss that???)

HYPEHYPEHYPE
Anyone else say they're doing NaNoWriMo every year and end up failing or is that just me? :'D
