Tapastic no doubt does get some reader resistance/negativity/angst since certain types of content have a seemingly disproportional amount of visibility on the site. For example, in an industry where superheros are synonymous with comics, to show up on a site for the first time and see no superhero series but instead ~30% of all the thumbnails tagged or displaying content a certain way, is going to bend some readers out of shape, especially those who are more conservative than liberal. Those readers are going to come to preconceived conclusions based on the content they see and some will undoubtedly punish Tapas because of it on social media.
There's literally nothing Tapas can do about this. It's an open platform. It cannot discriminate. All creators are welcome to create what they want to as long as it does not violate established decency laws regarding things like graphic violence, exploitation of minors, pornography, hate speech, etc.
Readers need to come to realize this.
They also need to come to realize that their support, or lack thereof, has an impact on what rises to the top at Tapas. Certain content ends up consistently on top because those readers support it by reading, engaging, sharing, and tipping. If they didn't then it wouldn't be Popular.
If readers want to see more superheros then they should become more proactive and support those series by engaging with them and telling others or consider financially supporting those series so the creators can create even more of the same. (Word of mouth is the #1 source of traffic/sales for books.) Attacking Tapas does nothing to change things. Tapas is simply a reflection of what demographic is the most engaged with today. Tapas tomorrow is a reflection of tomorrow. Readers should take it upon themselves rather than to passively complain about things, to actively become the change that they wish to see.
No one blames The Mirror if they don't like what they see. Blaming Tapas is similar to blaming The Mirror.
In the case of premium content, if everyone started gobbling up keys for content about boy wizards or sparkly vampires, its quite certain that you would see more and more premium content about boy wizards and sparkly vampires. Tapas is simply responding to the principles of supply and demand.
