Ever had a page that was really hard to draw for you and you hated every minute of drawing it, but afterwarsd you look at it and you're proud of how it turned out? It can be a difficult pose, angle, or maybe characters' emotions! Show it and share your thoughts about it!
This topic is inspired by a page I finished recently:I hate drawing fights and actions scenes. I discovered it in the middle of drawing my series which was supposed to be fights-heavy in the second half of the story, so I removed all unnecessary fight scenes this one however is necessary, so I just had to deal with it. The whole scene (not only this page) actually turned out better than I expected, and I really like how the first two panels look! On the third panel it would be better if the dragon was more angled (body tilted backwards and head more forwards), but I'm still pretty happy with this page, especially considering how I struggled with it
Okay, not pages, but some of my pieces (basically all of my "dreaming in colors") have been really disheartening during the process, because I'm doing the piece in colored pencil from start to finish, I can't make corrections very well, and think it'll turn out garbage, but when they turn out really well, I'm so proud.
Excuse the squirrel fever dream, it's just how I am
They look so pretty! Love the patterns on the seahorse! and yes, I really wish we had 'undo' button when doing traditional art!
tysm, and yes, especially when you don't pencil sketch first
I'd say the entirety of chapter 11 but I guess more specifically these pages plus more pages in the fight scene.I don't want to say I hate the process, I think the best words I could use to describe it would be exciting and frustrating but mostly just exciting to work through. The end result, my readers loved it.
and these pages
This page took me so...freaking...long lolThere are definitely some things that still look off but I still think it turned out pretty good?
Lately I've been playing with foreground/background and reflection layers.
It's a lot of work but I'm happy with it. Especially since this convo us going to go for a while so some dynamic panels are important. Can't just do shot-reverse shot the whole time.
I’ve never had a page that I hated drawing, because I like drawing. I’ve had pages that I hated the final result, of course.
But this one pushed the limits of my enjoyment. I bit off more than I could chew. It took me three weeks to get this one done. But I do love the results:
Hate doing backgrounds especially a messy room...
Also hate multi person panels...
Also just when I was working on position practice the whole thing was really hard for me, but I like how this one came out, with the exception of that ONE HAND:
and this one, which is apparently too big for me to post here:
This one for sure. Did it for the last day of Drawtober and I'm happy with how it came out but it cemented just how much I hate linework and coloring.
omg I have so many of these. My latest is a reference sheet, I've only got a little done but it's the process of sketch to final that drives me crazy! Here's what I have currently.
