Holy Improvement, Batman! Nice work @cutezness!
Ooooh fun! I love seeing before/after pictures like these!
I think this is the most intense change in my character designs for Burning Bright:
This was the initial character design for Bran (yikes):
And this is him in the official character headshot:
He goes through one more design change, but that would be spoilers
A whooooole bunch of my ocs are all from 2011 or before, and as a result so many of them have changed designs :'). Some changed more than others, while others barely changed at all, for example one of the 'main' characters Astaroth barely changed design at All.
Meanwhile, my oldest trio of OCs are who I refer to as the onomatopoeia bros and they've changed plenty
I can go on and on about this honestly
hnnngh it is with great trouble I share these works. I was fresh out of school with a fashion design degree and my earlier comic was a fashion comic. I had no idea how to do fantasy clothing. So I made these dudes up and I am pretty sure they moonlight as a glam rock band or something when I am not looking:
Unfortunately I do not draw many illustrations lately since 99% of my production time goes into the actual comic. So I'll share some awesome out-of-context panels from the last few chapters where these characters recently showed up.
And this is my latest banner. Two of the three shown in the early work are on it. No longer a glam-rock band ... not that that would be a bad thing. :>

PS I love seeing all of these! Our artist journeys are so amazing.
Kamiko from my comic This Mortal Coil over the last five years:
I know from the design she may not look it, but in my mind she's changed a great deal. A lot of it has to do with her personality. Originally, she was this really dour, introverted, withdrawn character, and I had made so many of those types of characters -- I guess it was a reflection of how I felt as a teen, but moving beyond that into my 30s, I didn't want to write that kind of person so I wiped that slate clean and tried again, this time going the diametric opposite. I wanted someone with a bit of attitude, cleverness, snark, and confidence, wrapped in elegance, and that's the character I've molded her into today.
My ability to draw Lolita has also gotten better. I don't even know what that first version of her is in 2010 -- some cross between a pilgrim dress and some version of a gothic lolita outfit. I would say it's hit or miss in 2011 to 2013. The dress she wears in Rabbit and the Moon is a simplified gothic/classic look. I've been doing an art series drawing her in various Lolita brands and styles which you can see on my comic's website.
Here's the latest drawing of Kamiko from my Lolita project (Jan 2016), it's a custom design paying homage to one of Mortal Coil's inspirations. Can you guess what it is?

Oh man, so this character is one I made in 6th grade (back in 2006, I'm 22 now)
Tzuba has gone through soooo many designs. He is the one character that I HAVE to eventually make a comic with. The comic I am making now is just to basically get into the swing of making comics and to get before I start the story I've always wanted to do. I want to make it my magnum opus lol.
My comic, Slim Piggy, has only been in development for a year (which is probably the fastest project I've ever done) but for what it's worth, here's my main protagonist, Jason Mason, as drawn back in December 2014 and a more recent drawing of what he looks like after a year of messing around : )
Roxy from Cosmos Song. The first picture predates the comic itself. :3
Whoa wait I really haven't posted in this? Dayum.
Alas my current comic is too new so the characters' changes are too minimal and more part of the whole "working out design" thing rather than me changing and re-designing them later.
The biggest and also most amusing change to an OC I did was to my bias Zero:
You can see a WIP from an old ref I decided to include in his current one. I basically removed his arms and made him look like a kid, lol.
It's not his oldest design though.
idr how old it is but it should be early high-school so like 2010-2011 maybe. Basically since then I just moved his scarf to his waist and my style changed. I really wanna use "oversized pins" in a character design though...
Oh my goodness, I have to pull out the oldest thing I have now. Dim! From There's No Such Thing as Jason -- I.T.! This is very shortly after I created him, probably within a few weeks, in 2005.
And Dim now! He's actually aged a bit for the I.T. comic (two years) so he's very, very different, haha^^
This is from a long running series that i still haven´t published ,but she´s the character i would call "THE OC"
she´s called Aura
Then:
Now:
the settings of both versions also changed and are nothing alike, the old one was set on a postapocalyptic world, the current one is even set in my own city!, the old one actually was a single drawing i did out of boredom but i fleshed the character for a different story
