Hola and Howdy, I'm Leyelle, an 18-year-old Dominican-American author and poet. Outgoing and aggressively precocious I was published for the first time at 15 and was the 2023 Turnill Prize winner.
I love cartoony art too. I don't prefer to go super-serious with my art style
A WIP of my OC Inoa. My last drawing of her was from exactly a year ago [image] [image]
rather than a punishment, why not just decide on something like having to practice drawing 10 spheres, or hands or something like that, which will help the artist improve even if they don't succeed at one portion of the challenge? Alternatively, you could just write all the prompts now, and let pe…
So I have a romance all from one POV and another from both sides. It's not inherently lazy to switch POVs if you want to show more of that person's life and story, but if you just want to convey clues, there are lots of ways you can do that without switching POVs. Show what they're thinking by …
the pose is great. my characters always stand so stiffly lol
Lizzie's expression is so much fun
group games and stuff like that
Tex and Chili are 19 and 25 respectively. I know, it's a big age gap. Chili is a graduate of the college Texas is currently a student at, which is how they met. [image]
hmm, I would say I'm satisfied for the moment, but with more practice, I think I could rewrite it better
After the car accident that paralyzed her best friend, a young artist tries to fight her depression and anxiety to pursue the career he always insisted she was made for.
oh yeah, skip the part where you tell someone your name and go straight to dating lol
the hardest scenes i've ever written was probably in a short story i'm writing that isn't on Tapas, where I have a girl running from and fighting her dragon. I'm not used to writing action sequences so it was very tricky to do right. The first chapter of Crystal Blue was difficult for the same reaso…
XD. I was thinking of that song too but I didn't think anyone else would know it
thumbnail versus the finished product (except that I repositioned Chili's word bubble a bit after this) [image] [image]
complicated question. I write sci-fi and sci-fantasy, but I haven't posted any of it here. I recently won an honorable mention for the "L Ron Hubbard Writers and Illustrators of the Future" competition for one of my sci-fantasy stories tho, which was awesome.
I like your art so far. Here is one of my characters if you want to try drawing her: [image] she'll wear just about anything within reason so you can have fun with her fit, she's wearing a body suit in this pic because it's a reference image. But this is her canon wrap dress [image]
try taking a picture of yourself of someone you know
Lol, Chili would flip if he knew you thought he was Texas's dad XDDDD. This is hilarious tho. You really went the extra mile (as a ballad) Pizza! you are my one true love! that's it, it doesn't have more lyrics, he couldn't think of a rhyme
"You kids can ride on the train, but the giant red panda stays"
well it's hard to appreciate a book if you can't read it
"Please stop touching my hand" Mev not listening "-- and then I'll show you my library."
"I'll take over the largest evil empire the world has ever known, one McDonald's at a time."
feel free to assume what's going on here. i'd love to hear people's guesses [image]
This picture is so old, but Chili canonically has pretty sharp canines [image] this is his original character design sheet
I published my novel chapter by chapter as I wrote i. I wrote my first novel in November 2023 and completed it in January.
I'm using an Amazon Fire my mom bought me. I would not recommend it but I'm grateful for it.
Picking on is impossible but some of my faves are: Chili: He's just so confident and extra it's a lot of fun. Melissa: she's the sweetest most talkative angel on planet earth. Andrew and Jinho (since they're basically two halves of the same person at this point): also are high on the list. …
Traditionally I mean. that was an error. I can't afford a sketchbook
I do this with my comic too. drawing borin outfits is well...boring
I miss drawing digitally. I prefer it honestly
