Oh my god, you're right ! It's HM's 5 year anniversary soon ! I should probably do something but... time... -_- And on one hand I'm proud I'm still as passionate about it (if not more !) 5 years later, on the other hand, I'm so not-productive-enough it's depressing to see how slowly the story is pro…
Not sure what you mean by "sub tool" ? Also are you using it on desktop or an ipad ?
Oh, generating it isn't the problem, you can do so very easily online ! But it seems my problem is mainly solved now
Good idea ! I tried that and it directs me to the mobile version (not the app) but I'm not sure if it's not because I already refused to be redirected towards the app once. Still better than nothing !
Alright, I think I found the answer to my own question... it's not working because when I scan the code it takes me to the app instead of the site and since the links are different depending the platform you use, it can't be found on the app but can on the website... Hmmm... That's a bit of a pro…

Go back to the 20th on this thread and you'll see the post with the pictures
I'd love to hear some stats about the website ! Like the number of readers-only compared to creators, which countries are the most present (if you have such infos), average number of comics created everyday, same for the episodes etc etc.
In the Hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy, one of the character named his cat "The Lord" even though he's not sure of its existence... Which leads to very funny and misleading dialogues. If Douglas Adams did it, I guess it can work pretty well !
Same, though I must admit that if no one read my story, I might have lost interest on my own and tried something different because I don't have that long an attention span and always feel like it's not good enough. Having people care about it makes me care more too and gives me the confidence and …
Definitely won't... I've never done a con but... Maybe you could stitch it in the corners real quick ?
Sometimes it's just a form of clumsiness (not talking about real telemarketers but tapastic creators). I've had my fair share of spammy messages on my wall but most of the time, I investigate a bit and discover that the person who did it is really new to Tap so I just let them a message explainin…
I don't think that guy wanted us (I say "us" because he posted on my wall too) to notice him at all... I actually checked, like everytime I get that kind of message on my wall, and my comic wasn't even in his reading list so I guess he just wanted to use my wall as advertisement space because he tho…
Hey there ! Good idea, I'm always willing to see more video reviews ! I read all of Wintre's reviews on her blog but reading on a screen can be really tiring so I think people would really appreciate something in video format ! There are several types of reviews I think : Comic promos : not re…
I'd love to see real stats about that. But I guess most of the app users are readers yes, not so sure about the desktop version.
Oh, you mean, with the patreon program ? Yeah, I didn't mention it because if I'm not mistaken, it ends in a few months (like August or something)
You can see that on the app by clicking on the number of tippers in your profile. But for some people (depending on the OS I guess) it's limited to 20 tippers or so (ranked by rank, recent or name) But it still allows you to see who your bigger tippers are.
Ah yeah, I guess so !
You must have been sad when they stopped. I would have gone looking for them... "Where are you pal ? I miss you, my comment section isn't the same without you..."
Tapastic is great ! I feel there's much more of a community there than on webtoon especially since on webtoon there are no profiles or even avatars. Here I feel much more inclined to share news, throws contests and Q&A and whatnot ! Webtoon doesn't even have a forum Also they do everything they …
Well, all the featured comics are paid but none of those from the discover section
Personally, I begin my pages by drawing the panels (more or less), then I throw the corresponding dialogues in each panel so that I can place them as I thumbnail which means my balloons are drawn very early (almost the first thing I do !) Yes, context plays a huge part !
Community-wise, it's the opposite The fact that most of Tapastic's community are creators makes them more understanding of the art, the lenght of your updates, potential hiatuses... And most can see the potential when they see how much your art improved between your last and first episodes.
On…
Damn I wish we could still upload images without having to host them somewhere, I'm gonna mess up my explanations if I can't draw them... Ah, well. I don't think there's anything wrong per se, especially once there'll be the dialogues to clear everything up. I do agree with @digitalvalium1 though,…
Really ? That's good to hear ! I wish we had access to some kind of data from the site... Gimme numbeeeers...
Also THIS. If your story is good enough that it became a playground for your readers' imagination, then it's time to celebrate, not get mad (yes, I'm talking to you Robin Hobb !)
Also, one big thing some authors tend to forget is that most readers don't read all the others' comments and think they're the first to make a particular joke/theory/comparison etc. What can feel like "harassment" is just an accumulation of similar individual comments. I remember this author who g…
I kinda thought my story as a book first but I was completely incapable of writing it (it had to be in English for scenario reasons, and I'm French soooo...) Then I thought my English was good enough for basic dialogues and decided to make a comic out of it, even though it's probably way too long..…
Woooh ! Congrats ! They look awesome !!
Same here. It won't make me unsub from a comic but as I don't bother clicking on some artists's wall posts (because 99% are just livestream notifications) I will definitely miss some things..
You actually... watch them ? I just clic play and and do something else (:
