I help out with forum moderation and Tapas novels!
This may be the case for future novels! It would be really cool to bonus goodies like extra art for premium series. But no promises on when we'll be able to make this happen.
Hi there! Author input is part of every step of the production process, and we wouldn't move forward with a launch unless the author was satisfied. You'd be more than welcome to advertise an external project within the book as both author's notes and announcement chapters (with links)! Regarding …
Hi there! The free chapter scheme that you bring up doesn't work with the monetization tools that we have, but we're working to ensure that free-to-read readers will always have access to high-quality stories. The free-to-read community is and will continue to be in our radar.
For premium novels we've noticed that chapters in the 700 - 1200 word range tend to do best, with 1500 words as a hard upper limit.
We don't mind if a work, or variants of it (ex. the short story you plan on expanding into a novel) are available elsewhere! Feel free to send in submissions even if your series is available for free elsewhere. Series that are being monetized elsewhere, like a traditionally published author approach…
90k words qualifies! Looking forward to reading through your pitch
My bad for the poor wording! Even if a work has a very strong outline, we wouldn't take it on unless it has at least ~80k words ready to go. ~80k words is indeed the point at which a series is considered viable for premium serialization! Followings on other sites are taken into account! Wh…
If a series was successful while free that definitely improves its chances of going premium! A series which did well on the free-to-read side of things will likely do well as a premium series too. At the same time, if a submitted story isn't doing well on our free-to-read side that'll be taken into…
Hello! Novels team content editor here answering the questions I've seen in this thread: Existing, ongoing projects on Tapas (and any other site) are more than welcome to be submitted! It puts the series on our radar, which is definitely a good thing. But we usually don't offer a contract unless …

Hello! The main concern is that given the visibility of this feature on the app, and with the way the first chapter of Kiss It Better includes lingerie, BDSM, and nakedness. While I agree with you that the series is not explicit, I worry that an Apple auditor might come across those keywords and mak…

Hi y'all! This thread is not in line with rule 6 -- closing thread!
I agree with you that mature content is confusing to navigate on our site -- to my knowledge, Apple hasn't scrutinized novels in the past (I speculate that this is because it's easier to skim for mature content for comics than it is for novels), so currently we're in a gray zone that we're doing o…
Novels team member here! I don't quite understand the question, but please feel free to elaborate!
Mysterious! Metaphors are fun too. Great to meet you, Prisim! I hope that Draygon Frost and Guardians of Calandria and any potential future novels get a good readerbase! We're always happy to have more writers 'round these parts. Hi there Aykay! Reading what you wrote about discovering lot…
Something I've always been curious about -- how tedious was it for you to learn anatomy? I know that there's something about proportions in there, but did you use a ruler/do math when you were learning? Are there general principles of anatomy that should be learned, or was it more of a case-by-cas…
