Always down to make new art/comic pals! discord: feardeer#5916
I'm exactly the opposite. I can handle any amount of gore if it's drawn or animated, and I generally like gory media. Live action and in-person I'm a lot more likely to need to look away or even feel sickened. It's mostly the act of inflicting wounds/someone being injured that makes me cringe with l…
[image] There was no reason for me to draw this big ol' mess, but I couldn't seem to focus on anything else until I got it out of my system!
These are pretty popular, so maybe you've already read them, but they're what came to mind:
We talk about lots of things, but they're shallow, lighthearted conversations for the most part. Never anything personal or deep. Though I may have talked to her about that sort of thing some years ago, the trust and comfort level isn't really there anymore. Sucks, but it is what it is.
I'm generally wary of doing an unpaid collab with someone who isn't already a friend or familiar aquaintance. If I'm not getting paid, I need to know with some degree of certainty that we'd get along well. If it's something small enough and largely independent, like a zine or anthology, this rule do…
On Tapas: Outside of Tapas: Novae This is Not Fiction - I love all of these comics so much, can't possibly narrow it down to just one.
They sure are! Thanks a bunch!
[image] It's not perfect, but I'm still pretty proud of this piece. Also it's my first personal illustration of the new year! Technically I started it in December, but didn't have time to work on it again till today.
Just applied for the Helioscope mentorship program for the second time. I'm not confident about getting accepted, but I still gotta try. Please send some luck my way, ya'll
Trying out colored pages for a while. It takes so looong for such a simple coloring style. [image]
So good to hear you're getting back into drawing! I love your artwork. Take it easy and just try to enjoy the process~
AUs are a lot of fun though, so I definitely see the appeal! It's a comic! There's about 10 pages up already, and I'll be adding new pages every time the support goal is hit. I don't get tips often, so it's very low pressure lol.
I generally try to resist the draw of AUs, since I already have too many original stories kicking around that I'd like to work on. That said, I did start up a Magical Boy AU for Underworld Engine as a support goal/2-year anniversary reward. It was the AU that readers voted for. I think the other …
Washington, USA. Just across the river from Portland. It's a pretty nice area aesthetically, though I don't want to remain here permanently.
I was actually trying to come up with a handle for a spicy art twitter a little while ago, so thank you for your contribution lol
I'd love to have mine sent over as well!
The very uninteresting backstory to my current pseudonym involves a lot of brainstorming to replace a previous name (inkbleat). Basically I like horror, I'm very scared, and deer are neat. So, feardeer. Also, it rhymes.

I can't say for sure if I'd read it, but I'd certainly give it a look. I wholeheartedly welcome more unique styles and techniques in webcomics.
Perfectly clean line art. Goodbye. I've been gradually embracing looser, sketchier lines and plan to focus more on fluidity and expression than neatness. I might change my mind someday, but I feel this is the right move for now.
There's no artist skilled enough to make me read their comic if the story isn't doing it for me. There are a handful of artists I've admired and followed for years who have webcomics, but try as I might, I can't enjoy them. I love their artwork and always will, but if the story isn't for me, I'll…
I would just choose one of my friends tbh, since they're the only people I'm fairly sure can tolerate me for 24 straight hours.
It depends on the relationship. I might be a little biased since I have some unusual views on relationships in general, but I see flirting as silly fun most of the time. That said, communicating your boundaries and comfort levels with your partner is paramount. Don't just assume they'll be okay with…
As practice for my future presidency, I refuse to own up to my mistake!
The oldest art I could find was from 2010-2011. I worked exclusively traditionally for a long time, and didn't have a way to scan my work prior to then. I have no idea where it's all stored, if it still exists at all. :< [image] [image]
Bloody gay adventure with trains. & Magical boys in magical boots.
Frequently! But there are things I like about my current style as well, which I've only been able to say confidently for the past year or two. I wouldn't want to swap styles with anyone though. Rather, I'd like to continue to experiment and hone mine so that it remains uniquely feardeer, but also e…
I'll only sub to things with a big enough archive, honestly. I don't care about being there from the start. It's more important that there's enough material for me to become engaged with the plot and characters. And I very much enjoy binge-reading. Also, the bigger the archive, the more reassurance …
My favorites are silly/jokey comments and theories! I also like when people actually respond to whatever I put in the author's note. It's nice to know some folks aren't just there for the comic and care what the creaor has to say... even if what I have to say is usually directly relating to the c…
Thank you so much! Environment art is definitely something I intend to work on more, so I'll try to get on that soon! :>
I haven't really thought about this before, but I think my approach varies a lot from piece to piece. I know I don't focus on overall composition nearly as much as a I ought to, and I rarely do thumbnails for illustrations. I suppose I focus primarily on anatomy and just getting a point or concept…
