Oh, wow. I might just go to community college first, then. Thank you!
Thank you! Yeah, I love art (specifically comics) since I started drawing when I was 10. I don't really like anything else. My next option would be programming. I just want to make a good and solid living for myself after high school.
Whoa. I didn't know that. At all. Thank you for this information. Yeah, I feel the weight lifted off of my shoulders just a little bit. But I'm still going to work my hardest!
Thank you. But I feel like I can't chill since I only have a couple years left. My parents told me that these years are going to fly by I have to act fast lol
Thank you! Yes, I do remember you giving them to me and thank you!
As the title suggests, I'm starting to second guess myself like I do ever other week now. Just today, I had a heated discussion with my parents about art school... specifically Calarts. It was and maybe still is my dream school, and they want me to go to college badly. I want to make connections and…
Ahh, I see. Thank you! I learned digital art by drawing with ibis a couple years ago and I can't let it go
It's the app I'm most familiar with, and I can only draw on mobile atm. The only problem I have with it is that it gets laggy when I try to draw on a larger canvas. The canvas sizes are also very limited. Medibang isn't laggy when I draw on a larger canvas, but it does have a few too many ads. Any a…
Oh, wow! I wasn't expecting so many answers! But thank all of you. I'm going to just stop stressing and see where that will take me. I'm going to graduate high school next year, so I was just having a crisis. Thank you!
Like anyone, I would like to live as a functional adult life once I get ready to leave my parents'. I LOVE art, and ((indie)) animation seems nice as well. I'm invested in writing my webcomic series, as well. That's been a goal for such a long time. But webcomics, for the most part, don't pay the bi…
I'm glad to see I'm not alone. We can cry together
As it pertains to a portfolio/sketchbook for a nice animation program (Calarts Preferably). I constantly watch accepted and rejected sketchbooks and portfolios, read the comment sections, and I have a good grasp of what the school wants to see. But It'd be a bold face lie to say that this makes me m…
When I was younger, I used to imagine my stories as having live actions adaptations, and I would write down a cast of actors to play which character. Have you guys done this? If so, what's your casting choice?
Don't have a schedule. Afterall, YOU'RE the artist. THEY'RE the readers! Draw on your own time! Without engaging with your audience. Doesn't matter if it takes a century! They can wait! If they can't, it's their loss.
That sounds like the life!
Oh damn. Those are some good figures! Thanks!
Oh, ok! Thank you! Guess I was worried for nothing? It's gonna be a bit tough with the life drawing stuff because of the Rona. But photo refs should be ok, right?
To clarify, I'm a junior and I'm currently working on a webcomic.. which has a more cartoony style. When I started drawing, I didn't learn by observational work. I've gotten better at my anatomy and proportions over the years (I started drawing when I was 10). But get this: I want to get into CalAr…
I wasn't expecting that lol
I know this genre tends to go on for a while. I'm trying to do an outline for my SoL comic series. If you ever did one and ended one, how'd you do it?
It really does! I'll try!
I have so many comic ideas! Sometimes, I work from old comics I have wrote before. But I want to finally post a webcomic, but I can't pick one that I could stick to. It sometimes put me in a creative rut. Any advice?
I wasn't especting so many replies! I really like the "two cakes" comic, and I was surprised about how many people were in my shoes! I'm gonna take everyone's wise words into consideration! TYSM!
:") Aww tysm..I'l try..
I'll make one thing clear: I'm only 16, and I've always had a passion for making a webcomic. It's my dream! I have all the necessary resources but there's just one thing: I just became decent at anatomy, and I don't have that much grasp of perspective just yet. And you know what's worse? I started o…
Oh, damn. This looks a lot simpler! I might just combine thumbnailing and scripting, cause I'm a visual person, mostly.
Oh, wow! I never thought of that! I actually like writing, so this will be something I might consider! Thanks!
If you even write scripts at all? I know comedy based (the one-pager) webtoons don't need much of a script, but what about the plot-based ones? Is it helpful, or just an extra step? Do you just write down the core plot points, and go with the flow? And if you do write your script, how should it be f…
