Well what I'm celebrating from 2017 is finishing my dry run on my comic series. I decided in 2016 that I was gonna spend 2017 seeing how much comic content I could put out/ and try my story idea out to determine what needed work, or where I needed to pay attention. Now that 2017 is just about over…

I love this!! Thank you!

Tobias is a very light grey. His bag and belt are leather, and his scarf/bandana is red and white gingham! He's a nerd. A bookworm with a particular interest in history and language.

Heyo could I get you to draw either Tobias on the left or Kent on the right here? [image]

There's no telling when this chapter will be ready to post, but I just finished this up an hour or so ago and I'm rather proud of it. [image]

Inking is the most tedious for me by far. I love writing and sketching panels and laying out pages, but when I get to the inking I hit a brick wall and it takes so so so long.

Here's an early page of mine, [image] And here's some panels from my newest page 11 months later [image] [image]

I write scripts on my phone at works, and then I drink a lot and the comics appear on my computer the next day.

If you're just posting in hopes that you'll get a lot of followers for your work, you're just gonna discourage yourself and burn yourself out. I know it's hard, but there's a point at which you've gotta ignore your sub count, knuckle down and just make the comic you want to see exist. It's really …

Attempting to not destroy my wrist or elbow during the drawing process

Hey guys, I just got back on the grind after taking a few weeks off to work on some paid animation and design gigs, and after queueing my update up last night, woke up sick this morning. So I'm bedridden. So who wants to keep me company by critiquing my comic? Here's today's update. Check out "C…

Work on something else today. Give yourself an alternate project to work on and just do that. If your working on your main comic all the time, it's easy to accidentally get in a position where you're just going through the motions and that leads to apathy and procrastination. So do something else…

I didn't see a tread for Inktober this year, and I've not participated in five years running, so I'm participating this year damnit! I'm doing the Johto Pokedex this year, and here's the first two Johto pocket monsters. [image][image] Share your inktober drawings!

My most listened to these days are... Agent Fresco, Tally Hall, Tennyson, Boards of Canada, Polyphia and Streetlight Manifesto.

The biggest problem most gag a day strips have is that the characters aren't characters, but instead are just faces to deliver jokes. A newspaper strip like Get Fuzzy for example, works because the strip delivers a gag each day, AND provides ongoing characterization of Bucky, Satchel and Rob. The jo…

I usually have all dialogue written beforehand, and my pages usually get laid out in individual sketches all over my sketchbook, but sometimes a page hits the sketchbook fully formed like this Before [image] After [image]

My fantasy comic The Chronicler updates again tomorrow morning if you're interested in a slightly offbeat adventure comic

Thanks for the kind words! I agree that my posing is a little stiff. Its been a ongoing process to loosen my characters up, and there's a character in the new chapter that is hopefully gonna force me to do some less stiff posing.

It would be helpful if you shared some info about the story you want to tell. What's the central idea? What are your world's mechanics? Is it an adventure told across many locations, or is it all set in one location like a YMCA or something? A love interest being present shouldn't come before your…

I didn't for my previous comics, or my first two chapters of my current on. I'm currently building one for Chapter 3 onwards because I'm done with being stressed all the time.

[image][image] If you feel yo to it, it'd be lovely to see someone else draw my main boi Kent.

So what's likely throwing it off for you is the hips. The hips don't sit as if there is a skeleton under them, and the back leg just continues the line of the stomach. If I were you I'd practice more pose work like this, but keeping the skeleton in the forefront of your mind. The more time you spend…

It's definitely not cheating, but I personally don't do it because most of my compositions don't allow for copy/pasting because of constantly changing camera angles and constant motion. No one stands in one pose from the same angle for long enough for me to ever have a chance to copy/paste

If you feel up to it, I'd love to have drawings of Kent or Tobias from my comic, The Chronicler.

Awesome I've been looking for critique ever since I finished chapter 2. My comic is an ongoing story, fantasy/adventure type thing. Check out "The Chronicler" on Tapas

My comic can be found here -> https://tapas.io/series/The-Chronicler/ The Chronicler is an adventure fantasy series with some ongoing mystery elements. Chapter 3 is in pre-production right now as I focus on animation projects for a couple weeks, but I'd like any feedback I can get right now on wha…
