I currently post my pages as is, though I make sure to make it still feel like you scroll a bit through it ^^ After every page I insert a blank space. I think its doing fairly okay as I managed to get promoted twice. I am planning on another series and want to reformat it to scroll later (I just …
I like to sketch out my thumbnails on paper since I feel like I can organise the panels better and it stops me from adding in detail Then I just redraw it and flesh out the sketch, ink and add colour using my tablet
Will probably change the top and bottom panel to more scene settings [image]
Dunno if I'm late, but happy thread anniversary~~ [image]
I just started mine too! https://tapas.io/series/Hem-and-Hook
Ahhhh thank youuuu~~~
[image] Sketch for the cover image of my series, I decided to just start uploading and not worry too much about my upload speed ^^
[image] Decided to just go with flats after experimenting with just pencil
[image] An indulgent piece of my OCs that are currently locked in the oc dungeon :')
Ahhhh thank you~~~ I’ve been weaning myself off the iPad to use my pen tablet more again but I just can’t seem to sketch properly with it anymore :’) So pencil it is
Mostly podcasts when I’m drawing but when it comes to thinking of dialogue I prefer to listen to osts (anime, drama) or piano covers, as long as it doesn’t have lyrics :’)
[image] Honestly had more trouble lettering :’)
If I’m looking for something I just type into search and read the old posts, recently I’ve been thinking about making a webcomic just in pencil so I’ve been looking at related threads ^^
There’s also dillyhub which I I think finished its beta phase
[image] Honestly considering just doing webcomics in pencil :’) This is a tester
[image] I mostly do flat, lineless art so I tried doing some painting for a change. The character is yotasuke from blue period (highly recommend checking the series out)
Never realised they were making a n English version, I’ve come across the Korean version when I was going down a rabbit hole :’)
Definitely going to give it a closer look!!
I’m going to try be a bit more positive about this as quite a few webtoons in Asia do end up being published into a physical format. I can only guess that it has a fan base that enjoys the work so much that they want to own it. It definitely makes it more of a luxury product. Initially I thought tha…
When I first got into digital art I started off with the intuos small and the upgraded to a 9.7 in iPad Pro which is now my main work horse. I still use the intuos but find that the space feels cramped now, as others have said. So if you do go down the screen less route I suggest going for at least…
In general, I dislike the feeling of making people wait so I'd rather create first and then show, especially with webcomics. One of my goals this year was to open a sticker store and I ended up announcing that first before making anything. I think because I see it as many small projects (each design…
Still a work in progress, just need to refine some areas :] [image]
I currently work in a more lineless style and it's pretty rare for me to do proper lineart :') Since i sketch and ink with the same brush sometimes I just clean up the sketch and add colour, so I guess I prefer more loose lines. One the rare occasion that I do proper lineart I guess the tendency is…
I read a particular subgenre, the reincarnated villainess, where the MC becomes the villainess who is destined to meet their doom in whatever book/ game they reincarnated into. For me the appeal is seeing how the MC acts "out of character" from what the villainess is known for and how they try to es…
I don’t have a preference when it comes to reading, though I feel that there are things black and white can do that colour cannot in terms of atmosphere and sometimes letting the reader use their imagination more. Colour i feel makes everything well defined
I usually choose to colour my webcomics…
Been listenting to Where the sea sleeps by Day6 on repeat ^^
I've been watching Dr. Stone, if minecraft was an anime or any civilisation building game. It's a fun series and surprisingly wholesome :') It has a similar energy to Gintama but less toilet humour ahaha
Honestly there's so many great series out there, but I have a big soft spot for Natsume Yuujinchou (wholesome goodness) and Haikyuu (motivating, dorky goodness)
I've gotten a 5.5 on an old webtoon before :') It gave me good reason to stop that series though because my heart wasn't in it so I guess the readers could see that too.
For me I listen to either instrumentals or podcasts while working on my webtoon. I tried to watch videos before but it really split my focus on where my eyes were looking. Don't get how some people manage to do it :')
Growing up I the only thing I really had to entertain myself was reading, drawing and daydreaming :'D. Once I discovered anime and manga I was pretty much hooked. If anything, I'm creating webtoons to put my daydreaming into something productive I guess and share it with others :]
