I think Mehron Paradise and Ben Nye are pretty good brands that should have a grey. I wouldn’t recommend using any body paint on your lips or right next to your eyes though, you should look for grey lipstick and eyeshadow for those parts.

I think they work best when they’re not just used to tell us what’s happening or what the characters feeling, but show us something new that we wouldn’t gain from the pictures or dialogue alone. Like, if a character sees a ghost and is scared, you can show them being scared without having them think…

It might help to try starting with your broadest themes and figuring out specifics from there. What are the central themes to your story? Ultimately, what is it about, and what are you saying about it? For example, say your biggest story theme is nature - and what you are saying about it is that …

Neokosmos was a webcomic (not on tapas or webtoon) that did a similar approach. I think the hardest part would be clarity, since you can’t as easily show who’s speaking or convey as much emotion through lettering, so the art would have to be very clear to portray that. But I like how it looks! I wou…

I don’t know your situation but can you look into legal jobs at game companies as your day job? It’s still not making games but it would put you in a fun environment and maybe make connections that can get you closer to it. I try to frame my life as everything that happens gets me closer to what …

I call my comic a sci fi comedy but there’s not much real science in it lol tapas: webtoon:

I think it largely depends on what kind of writer you are and what kind of story you’re writing. I come from a screenwriting background so I love to plan because I feel with a solid plan I’m able to tighten up the writing while actually being able to add more of what I want. Also I think it’s also g…

There will never be a final or objective “perfect”, and the more you make the more you’ll grow as an artist the best you can do will change. As your skills grow you may want to move on to other projects and new ideas, so it’s best to do it now while you’re most passionate about it. It won’t exist at…

I would suggest watching an animation in the style you’re looking to recreate (anime vs western cartoons use them differently) and go through the video frame by frame to see how it’s used and how you can recreate it in comic form. Some smear frames look weird isolated and are only there to help anim…

Different types of comics fulfill different needs. Like sometimes you want to sit down and get really into a beautiful comic with a complex plot, and sometimes you just need to read a clique romance without your critic goggles on and be happy. Or sometimes you just like one aspect of a comic and kee…

I try to write down ideas I don’t have time for and if I come back to them and still like them, find a way to pursue them more. Even if it doesn’t involve the exact plot of characters, sometimes they’ll be a theme or moment I can incorporate into something else. Nowadays if it’s an idea I’m really i…

Some time saving tips I learned from animators that I’ve been trying to incorporate into comics: -If you draw or color digitally, make your own textures and kits for things that appear often in your comic- maybe a wood grain or metal texture, or a bunch of generic walls or floors then reuse, trans…

I don’t have either but from my own research I would look through other people’s patreons and kofi pages (preferably people who do work similar to you or what you want to do) to see what you like and dislike about how they’re set up. You may not have much traction at first if you don’t have much mat…

For me I think the balance can be helped by characters, if characters are relatable and I can understand their place in the complex world and their intentions/motivations then the comic is much more readable, or I’m emotionally invested enough to try and understand it. And by relatable I mean is th…

I think as long as it’s interesting and funny throughout it can be as long as you want! if when you’re drawing it you feel like you’re making too many pages you can try adding smaller varied gags so there’s still something new and funny in each update.

Hi! I don't know any other track & field comics but I just wanted to say this sounds like a cool idea! I've read a lot of sports manga/comics without being an athlete at all so I think as long as your characters and themes are strong it'll be good for anyone to read. Maybe if you want to find someth…

There's a lot of good responses here already, but I wanted to add that I remind myself there's inherent value in the act of making something. Whether it improves your own writing/drawing skills, or if you enjoy the process, or if posting it helps you gain more confidence in putting your work out the…
