Say that when you move out of your parents' house.
So now getting a job is desperate. Lmao you should be happy that there are jobs in your place.
It's pronounced Tapas, https://translate.google.fi/#fi/en/tapas, or in that poor pronunciation language tah-pah-s which actually means "Kill!" in Finnish.
I was more talking about those fundamentals that don't have anything to do with realism like composition. I already agreed that realism has objective quality.
That's not quite what I was saying but fine, agree to disagree.
Those 3 sentences were in the same paragraph. Maybe this reads better: There is nothing objective about art, maybe only when we are talking about realism, then there are some objective qualities. Other than that, 100% Subjective. Keep on downplaying me though :). And yes literally, fundamentals are …
So, you are talking about realism. Yes, I agree that in realism there is objective quality. No, you can't judge cartoon at all if the aim is not to be realistic. Yes, they teach these shape things and stuff in school, doesn't matter. Art is subjective. Ah, so to you cartooning has something to do wi…
Nice childish jab at the end. Anyway, what exactly do you mean by being proficient with these building blocks? What makes you think you can decide what makes someone proficient with certain things? Ah, so now it's about being successful. Sorry, but being really "proficient" doesn't make you necessar…
No offence but those arguments were so weak that there is nothing to refute.
I just... I think I'll just get out of here, I am not going to let you troll me.
Those sites aren't reliable at all and even if that were true we have to look at the ratios. Canada has about 10% the population of usa so they would be actually at 46.3% if they had the same population. So I'd say Canada is the most active country per capita. Your comment is also quite rude towards…
My process: 1. Thumbnail the entire comic on sketchbooks 2. Sketch the page in question, make more complicated perspectives, translate into English etc. 3. lineart 4. colour 5. speech bubbles [image]
Uh, sure... I look into it. I'll try to make my comic more interesting, thanks. I just want to say that I do give it a deep thought when I am choosing the panel size.
You are actually proving my point with your childish accusations. Yes, I did read what you had to say. Actually, most of your points explaining what objective quality was, was just using vague words and not actually giving any concrete examples why some art is objectively better: skill, hard-work…
You are too kind, thank you for taking the time to write this post. It was really helpful, I will definitely change my thumbnail. I think I'll use one of your suggestions. As ryoko said too, yes, I must work on the speech balloons. Thank you again, I just can't thank you enough.
Thank you very much for the review, I really appreciate it. it's good to hear that you liked it. I will take your advice and improve my speech bubbles. One question though if you don't mind, Is the speech natural? I mean, I am not a native English speaker so that's why I am asking.
So, I am now working on this comic called Starbird Island. I started it about 6 weeks ago and I am uploading once a week. I've uploaded 7 pages now. It's an adventure comic with not a very realistic style. Here are some things I've been thinking about. Could the thumbnail for example be more attract…
Clinging to semantic issues when your argument has no merit huh?I think you are the one that is confused here. You've been told so many times that there is objective quality in art that you've started to believe that yourself and you can't get rid of that mindset anymore. Do you mean by objective qu…
I've always drawn, I've drawn ever since I can remember and it is because my family and older brothers very really into drawing so that's what I did too. I got into comics very young when I saw my older brothers' comic which was quite funny. Most of the comics I drew were about video game characters…
Not really music but I do listen to noise like rain and ocean when I'm doing my comic. I think I've listened this particular video dozens of times through.
It takes me about 6 hours of active work to finish one page of Starbird Island, no pauses. I recorded one of my drawing sessions so that's how I know.
This objective quality doesn't exist, it's just a invented term to make people think some art is of better quality. There is not right or wrong in art. Art is just human expressions.
No there isn't, it just makes people feel safer when they believe things are simple.

Wow, there are so many amazing comics here I didn't know existed. Here is my shameless promo, watch my comic here. It's about this young animal who tries to escape from an island he's been trapped on. [image]
I thought so too about the resolution but it makes the lines look much crisper.
I disagree. Lines not varying in weight is not a bad thing at all. It can look actually better. The problem with this artist is the program they are using. Also using bigger resolution makes the lines look better.
I got the idea for my comic from my brother's group of characters with different powers. Actually at first I wanted to make a game based on the characters with powers but because I couldn't be arsed to do that, I started to develop my comic like my brother was doing. The character designs are largel…
It's not possible. This site is English centric and other languages seem to be a waste of resources. Oh well.
if Finnish was spoken by at least 100 million people.
