Is this still available ? I am french and even if I have planned to make my comic RADIANT38 in english as there is no decent platform for Comic sharing in french, I would like the comic to be available in my native language as well. I had a look at my dashboard but I didn't see that button ...

It's not possible. This site is English centric and other languages seem to be a waste of resources. Oh well.

arf ... too bad ... I would have been nice to have everything on 1 platform ....

There are a few comics in French on SJ, but they are few. I tend to get less pushback using different languages there. I know it's not an ideal solution, but it is a solution. I'd rather like to read your comic in French, not that I can read French well enough to understand the subtle differences though.

It needs to be said though, that there are several comics on Tap in Spanish, and at least one in Portuguese that I've noticed. It means more work, but where is the harm in doing a French version on Tap? Tap is English-centric, granted, but choices are limited to what's offered. If one doesn't invest in providing that choice, it has no avenue but failure.

I think you should be proud of your experiences. Not everyone is French, just like not everyone is American. I think, in the age of the internet we all tend to forget that the world isn't english. English may be dominant on Tap, but it isn't the only choice and I don't think it should be.

Even if one has to repost it separately with a subtitle, française, wouldn't it add value to Tap as a community? I think so. But then, I'm an idealist at heart: in some ways the world is what we make it. I would definitely sub.

I'd like to know what you find from your research, so please do share. I'll add it to my list of things to look into, but it's long right now, and I can't make any promises.

tu est francophone ? heheh tape m'en cinq !

So to keep on the english side ( cuz I do understand that english has became the international language ... at some time in history it was french ... how did it shift ? ) anyway storybook matters.

What I wanted to say was, I'm fluent enough to do a comic entirely in English but I know that some people are not open to read in English and I didn't want to loose my french audience, weirdly not everyone speaks English ? ahah joking... even if so far I've prioritized on the English one (or english speakers/not only native english like me) because larger and easier to find I wish I publish my comic in my native language.

I haven't found an french platform like webtoon or tapastic and I deeply regret it, the only things I found sell already published authors like a kindle so it is of no interest for me because I wish there was a free platform that allows wannabe comic artists like tapastic to post their comic in french.
And I am a little mad that no one thought of this before ... I mean France has a pretty old and strong comic industry, I would have hoped that a big house like Glena/Delcourt/Dargaud would have thought about it, it could be a win for them : a way to discover new artist that actually work and are able to raise and audience. I know how hard it is to launch a new comic because the market is saturated, the paper sells less than before so the editors are not keen on trying new artists. I am even more desapointed at younger firms like Ankama that have boosted the french comic industry these past years... I know that in France we tend to are old school and scared of new technologies but damnit the ship has sailed !

I cannot be the first one to think about it right ?

I don't want to open a new comic series on tapastic to have my comic in french, it'll be easier to have it all at 1 place and just have a switch button ... Webtoons does that I think ? I need to look into it.

Non. Je suis boucher. Je parle mal et rarement. Même mes personnes fictive rit quand je parle.

I'm sure someone else has thought about it. And it's true, people are generally afraid of creative solutions and not just in France. Someone somewhere must have already pursued it though. If they haven't the market is right for it. 220 million people are francophone. That doesn't even include people like me.

If you move to WT let me know so I can start begging you to stay early!

in fact I am already there but I went to see and I can't post in another language ... I am only wondering now cuz the first 3 ep of my comic have no dialogue ... i'm stupid

Was wondering when you'd realize that.... And you can't leave. We have cookies, and beer and really bad jokes.

oh dear my weakness ... I'll die here !

Thank you so much. And.. my god why does everyone draw moustaches the same way the Japanese do? (sigh)
