Thanks for this. Feels good to know what I am up for! Congratulations on your winning ^_^

Could you please explain this? I understand the July 12th one, but not this one.
And what do you mean by

Is that the updating time for the story? Like it'll take 4 months to upload the whole thing with weekly updates.

Dropdown will look like this after the "Publisher" button is up.

Basically you get a new button when you become premium.

That's the entirety of the time line. So story written -> wins -> contract -> editing -> prep for premium, all took about 4 months in total.

Thank you @turtleme for the image. I didn't think to add an image so I really appreciate you doing that.

@SleepingPoppy Thank you so much for answering those questions by @Harmony-S-S the time difference meant I was asleep when all this was going on. Much appreciated.

As my story was already complete it took four months from the time the camp started to when the story went to premium. The entire story will be published in its entirety when it goes to premium. There will be no weekly updates.

And it's now here.

Thank you to everyone who has supported me during this time.
Time will now tell how it all goes.

A big congrats to you! It's such an awesome accomplishment

Thank you.

It's been a huge honour to participated in the writers camp and win.

@raekitano Do you know how this works with incomplete stories? Does Tapas work out a publishing schedule with the author, or will they prefer you to complete the story and then publish it in one sitting?

@violin Tapas prefers completed stories because, while contracts can be made, incomplete stories run the risk of authors simply bailing out or running to a dead end. There are cases where ongoing novels are made premium, but more often is a completed work.

hmm... I wonder if it would be more acceptable if the ongoing novel has chapter outlines and plot summaries planned all the way up to the end.

@violin What @turtleme said is correct. Completed stories are a much safer bet for us, as we know readers won't be left hanging if something comes up and the author isn't able to finish or be consistent about updates. However, we do take incomplete stories occasionally, particularly when the author has a history of consistent updates and we know they'll get their episodes in on time. Having a synopsis of the full story is also a good indicator for us.

We usually look at things on a case by case basis and do our best to be accommodating while still being practical. Some creators are able to update every week on the same day without fail. Others have to set up biweekly schedules. With others, we might sign a contract and then wait until they've finished the manuscript before we move to publication. It really depends on your needs and what we think will make your individual novel the most successful.

I thought I would give an update on being Premium.

It's going great.

Several things to take note on:

Likes, comments or subscribers do not appear in your notifications.

(I was beginning to think no one was liking my story, however I have since discovered this not to be true.)

As I like to thank people for subscribing by the time I realised the number of subscribers to my story it too me over two days to thank everyone.

I'm having to keep an eye out on the story in Publisher to see when comments are being made so I can reply (although not too many to be concerned).

If anyone knows of a better way of managing this, please let me know.

Sorry, pal, all you can do is enjoy reading every single one of their comments and thanking them bit by bit...I know I do
