Blacksad.
Go... just go read Blacksad.
Everyone should read Blacksad.
Unbelievably beautiful ink and watercolor art of anthropomorphized characters who still have a very strong and somewhat realistic 'animal' element to them, while still allowing for a decent amount of cartoonish expressiveness.
You're going to have to compromise at least a little bit here; either the animals are going to have to be cartoonified to some degree, or you're going to need to accept that the reader will be alienated from the animal characters to some degree.
No two ways about that, but striking the right balance for what you want is tough. I personally adore Blacksad's style and think it perfectly hits that sweet spot between the characters being relatable and expressive vs. looking like proper animals (at least in the heads and faces). Your mileage may vary depending on what your style looks like and what kind of tone you're going for.
Beastars is another pretty good example of this. Lots of people know the TV show, but the manga's art is way looser and more expressive:

Also anthro, but the heads, in particular, are much more animalistic, in a cartoon-ified way rather than a realistic way. Unsure if this is what you'd want, but it's worth at least checking out to see how another artist does this.
