No crushes yet, but Erras (guy with the beard below) is totally my dad. Haha! He even looks just like him. It made his day to hear that he's a loyal, brave knight in my comic.

I am always in love with all my characters while I am writing, then I go parental once the story is finished and I've moved on to the next cast. Kindda fate of a writer.

I've got it really bad because I'm writing a M/M romantic fantasy and I'm seriously crushing on both of the men. Like, I don't even know which I would choose. One is the classic tall handsome blonde Captain America kind of character with a protective nature and a heart of gold. The other is graceful dark Nubian perfection with a manipulative arrogance and humor hiding a lifetime of hurt like Loki.

So hard to choose, man! XD

I have a crush on one of my characters but I'm really embarrassed to admit who... so I'm just going to leave a line up of all of them so I can leave you hanging.

That said, I'll lovingly refer to most of my characters as my children and/or babies. I'm not sure if it's quite a parental sort of feeling, but I definitely feel strongly about them, haha.

I wouldn't say an actual crush, but rather (as you said) some sort of parental feeling towards them. But most of the time, if I have to be honest, I sort of perceive them as friends/family. I tend to get very emotionally attached to them and because I know every little thing about 'em (I'm their creator after all ) I feel like we're embarking on that journey together.
Perhaps it's also partly due to the fact that I think about them when I'm also with my family or friends so... yeah.
This always happens pretty much with every series I create and when I have to kill a character off, it pains me a lot...

Yep, I have a crush on all my main characters, even the female ones, and I’m not gay or bi-sexual. I just really love the living daylight out of them. And I don’t mean it in a parental way ^^
Granted, I’d rather think of them getting love dovey with their SO. But I also really enjoy seeing/drawing them in flirty or lovey poses. Not sure if that counts or if I’m just a huge pervert, but nobody will ever love my characters as much as I do ^^ <3

i also feel they're my kids sometimes. but i sort of flip between the two depending on what scenes im thinking about. lol i hope it doesn't sound weird. i guess it is a weird relationship because my character is way older than me and in real life that would be impossible.

That is not the case, that was more my reaction to the idea of me personally with my own current cast of characters ^^;; not at the idea as a whole. I have nothing against writers who create characters to be hot for themselves.
