Anyone knows the functionality of tags?

I was changing my tags a while ago since I thought they were slightly off, but, talking about the 10 tags that Tapas allows you to use... Do they actually help the comic be found? Are those tags just used for extra information when someone clicks your comic?

I'd like to know your thoughts about them, or even maybe, if you don't use them, to explain why you don't. (All out of curiosity)

I'd love to know myself, I keep putting tags on my comics but I have no idea how to track if anyone finds my stuff with them

That would be lovely; I can kind of look at my current analytics and guess what caused certain spikes, but ultimately it's often hard to tell.

I'll give Tapas credit for being better than Webtoon in that area, though. Webtoon doesn't let me see comments on my comics unless I page through each episode. And graphs? Who needs graphs...

iirc series tags do affect searchability but episode tags do not. whether or not thats changed at all tho someone else would have to confirm or deny

also a tip I've seen shared often is when tagging your series go for story details or elements that feels relevant like a female protagonist, love triangle, modern fantasy, etc but things that people will be looking for when searching for series to read

Who knows what the functionality of the tags are. I used about 10 tags on each of my series as well. Perhaps tapas just thinks they help to sell a series somehow? Not sure, but it doesn’t help with visibility.

Yesss, Tapas is way better than webtoon in those aspects, it also lets one upload more pages in an episode and notify subscribers, I think webtoon only notifies when there's a new episode not a new page in an already existing episode.

I don't know why webtoon thought it was smart to not show comments unless going through the pages

Hmm yeah, hope this can be improved somehow in the future It would be nice if it had a section like canvas from webtoon, though, that showed the last updated comics or something so people had a little bit more visibility u_u
