Thankfully I got totally distracted while watching him livestream that (I found that game horribly boring to watch) and was out of the room when he went off. I was shocked by the drama from the dev, it wasn't like it was the first time Mark had gone off (did the devs miss the Mario Maker rants or Getting Over It??? He's a well known rage player).

I definitely have to pick and choose, lol. I like watching the 'funny' games because he's typically pretty calm and I love the way he laughs.

It depends what I need that day.
When writing stories and layouting and such, I usually can't concentrate if there's too much noise around me. I usually have a song I put on repeat until I'm done ^^

When it comes to the drawing part, whatever I feel like, music, podcast (webcomic themed), letsplays as white noise...

Webcomic Alliance has been very educational for me and my favorite. Then there's ComicLab and SpiderForest Webcomic Podcast.

It really depends on what is going on on the page, like for example my newest page there is a big fight with a huge storm that is getting worse so I like putting on some storm ambiance or something like that and maybe some anime/game battle music like this (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KDbzrS14AGI&start_radio=1&list=RDKDbzrS14AGI1)

Might be a little weird but I find it quite motivating and it keeps me in the mood for that page.

The page I was talking about :

Sometimes I put a concert in youtube in the second screen of my computer because watching series, movies or documentaries are super distracting for me. But now I'm playing non stop playlist in spotify listening music.

Usually I put on jazz or split windows and watch a tv show/movie. (Although I wouldn't recommend doing that when you're figuring out the actual layout of the comic page >_>)

Sometimes if I'm REALLY mean to myself, I'll put on a ASMR videos and slowly fall asleep while drawing.

OST's, trailer music; mostly instrumentals and orchestral.

Although, now that I think about it, I put on a bunch of other stuff too: Classic Rock, EDM, Pop, Heavy Metal, etcetera. I think it depends on the mood...

But mostly instrumentals

i listen to just about anything. news, creepasta readings, music, other story readings, ect.

i listen to phillip defranco on youtube for news and if i want a more in depth take on the news i do my own research

i listen to mrcreepypasta or some top 10 creepy channel for pasta readings

music, ill listen to anything. suicidesheeps got some great hits, found alot of great artists through him

story readings, just recently i got done listening to 'flowers for algernon' hands down this book will be in one of my top 10 best books ive ever read and listened to.

@minerrale LOVE the soundtrack to Pillars of Eternity. Never even played the game, just listened to the music. It's incredible for writing fantasy.

That being said, when I'm writing, it's video game soundtracks and movie scores. For art: I often watch video game streams. Usually Vinny from Vinesauce. His commentary is actually quite interesting, and his voice doesn't make me want to punch a duck.

I'm into video game music videos, which is where people recycle footage from video game trailers and put it to music. Just search "GMV" on YouTube.

Oh man, it's crazy seeing how many of us listen to video game music! It's very true, though, that stuff works wonders as simple background noise to help you focus (unless boss music comes on, then holy cows, pulse racing canvas slingin' initiates).

My vg music library is about a week long and sometimes, I feel a little stale on it. I'll boot up some old wuxia dramas from the 70's/80's (Taiwanese usually) or some contemporary mandarin period dramas to play in the background while I work. It's a fun lil workout to test measly listening comprehension skills while drawing, hah^^

Ooo I didn't know you were into game OSTs, interesting xD sadly never played any of those listed though...

I pretty much always listen to music when I'm doing any activity that doesn't have its own sound (ala TV/Movies/videogames). Rarely/never put on background videos though.

As for what I listen to, a lot of alt/punk/pop rock, mostly xD I enjoy upbeat stuff the most, but not too picky: if it sounds cool to me, I'll give it a listen. Artists range from video game music (vocal, usually) to anime openings to bands I grew up with and love from the states, and even this one French-Canadian singer i love :]

1/ Open English dub anime, movie, tv series on my second monitor and watch (listen to) them.
2/ Use Balabolka to convert text novels to audio.
These are my only 2 options to work and enjoy life at the same time, can't find any free time to sit down and watch movies or read books these days.

Good stuff. I read Flowers for Algernon as HS required reading years ago and loved it. I bet I'd enjoy it even more now.

ive started listening to audio books on you tube while working on drawings. when laying payges out i listen to music because it's more concentration and i seem to stop listen to books if im concentrating on other things.

Videos are way too distracting so I avoid them as a rule.

As for music I'll listen to almost anything really, though for drawing/writing I do have a soft spot for Daft Punk (especially Random Access Memories and the Tron Legacy soundtrack), and for Public Service Broadcasting. I also like Modest Mouse, Pink Floyd, The Prodigy, David Bowie, Tchaikovsky, NWA, Public Enemy... I did say I'd listen to almost anything.

For streaming I tend to use the soundtrack from an old game called Turrican 2 on the grounds I'm less likely to get into trouble for using it and because I always liked it.

I find that for me it's audiobooks. Sometimes it's documentaries or video essays tho.
At the moment I've been listening to lots of true crime biographies and stuff that recall famous court cases (Charles Manson currently) and a documentary podcast called Serial Killers.

Sometimes I can listen to music while I work but it depends on my mood - sometimes music is distracting.
