28) Keep water/tea/juice at your work station. Its easy to get wrapped up in your art for hours, remember to drink and eat!
29) Use the 20/20 rule, when working on digital art (or using a screen for long periods of time in general) to reduce eye strain. Eye health is important!
30) Learn some desk stretches for your wrists and neck (Here is a series of yoga desk stretching videos that cover posture, neck&shoulders and wrists.
31) Don't hunch over your work, or work with your face too close to the screen. This is important for your health and your art quality, generally you should be able to see your whole canvas (this applies to traditional art more so than digital, but even in digital don't work too zoomed in.)
32) Save every half hour (or more). A good rule for saving is if you don't want to do it again then save after ever small task (ie outlining a character or laying flat colours)
33) Find out the best times to update or post on each site you use. There are general times that each sites traffic increases, you can do a quick google search to find those times. Also know your own followers, ex. my twitter is most active at night (10pm-12pm)
Here is a chart I use (There are many of these, and while the stats vary, they are all about the same)
34) Use the 'Feedback Sandwich method' when giving critiques. Here is a quick guide to giving out constructive criticism using this method. Writing and reading critiques can improve your own art/writing, it kills two birds with one stone by both helping someone else and yourself improve.
35.) Exercise and creativity go hand in hand, there are tons of studies linking the two. If you ever have an art block or writer's block go for a walk or do some cardio,
36) Keep learning! Watch art videos, watch speedpaints, watch documentaries, listen to podcasts, try new things both inside art and just in general. You never know where inspiration will come from!
