Best day of the week for posting?

I read somewhere on Smackjeeves that many people preferred to post on weekdays between 3pm-6pm because it's the time most people finish school or work. I used to upload around this time, but have since changed to weekends.
Maybe try different times of the day consistently for a short period of time - one at 4pm and one at 8-9pm and test your audience?

I have tried uploading on Thursdays, Fridays and weekends so far but I noticed not many people come on weekends. It also seems a lot of people update on Fridays so it's more competitive. So far for me Thursdays have worked best, but I haven't tried Mon-Wed yet.

I have a friend who totally enjoys watching the series' stats for me (even reports to me how long an episode was in the Daily Feed) so this is the info I got from him.

Yes, in my experience weekends seem somewhat slow. I guess people go out and about then.
I have one series that updates on Wednesdays and another on Sundays. Even if it's a Sunday series, people still manage to find it somehow.

I guess I'm one of those people who just posts my pages as I finish them whether that's at noon or at 4 in the morning on whatever day I get them done. I don't really pay attention to what time/day I upload them because as someone mentioned, people are gonna end up reading it anyway. I know sometimes people find it helpful to upload on certain days to maximize exposure, like on the trending page, but that doesn't concern me.

I've posted at many times, every day of the week, and it never has made a difference when it's posted, but more of the frequency and the competition that day. Weekends are heavy with comic posts but not heavy with readers unless it's Friday night, which I've found goes for a lot of social media sites.

I post on Mondays and Fridays at 10 AM PST (which is about 19.00 local time for me), and that seems to work out pretty well. I think I might be getting to those people who are bored and procrastinating at work on the first and last days of the week.

I usually post Undying Happiness pages on Monday 0:00am PST time. Seems okay to me -- I've recieved comments that it's something to look forward to on Mondays.

I update mine early Tuesday morning for Taptastic. It's going to show on the persons list to read anyway next time they go to read things. I see no point until waiting for rush.

Also to note, despite a Tuesday update, I had a huge rush of new subs Friday for reasons I still haven't figured out and gave up on.

So whatever works best for you, really. If you have a teeny buffer, make it a convenient time in case of last minute changes/rushes. If you have a huge buffer, then whenever works but just try to stay somewhat constant.

There is low to none difference between views on different days. One week I have the most views on tuesday and saturday (and it's only a difference of 50-80 views), but on a week before it's wednesday and friday. So I'd say it depends more on an hour of upload, not a day.

Avoid uploading on the weekends here on Tapastic. For some strange reason, people like to look at Tapastic on work/weekdays. Maybe they're reading on the computers at work instead of actually reading when they have free time? 0.0

I do not advertise on Friday or Saturday. Those have always given me the worst results so I stopped doing ads on those days. Strangely, Sunday subverts this, and I sometimes get more activity on Sunday than any other weekday.

I post in the early morning at Thursday, 8 AM CST, when people are either at work or going to work. I used to post in the evening but I never got any traction.

I don't think it really matters WHEN you post your comic, just as long as you're consistent with it. When you're just starting out a comic, it's going to take a few updates for people to even notice or get interested. That's not to say "omg no 1 will luv u" or anything so silly, it's just that it takes time for readers to know what to expect and when to expect it.

Keep it coming on a specific day, at a specific time, and stay as consistent as possible. Even if you don't have anything ready just put SOMETHING up . It can be a drawing or a bunch of sketches, or a super simple doodle to hold the page until the next image is ready. If you keep new content coming, no matter how simple, your readers will thank you for it.

I did an experiment where I uploaded a comic on every week day for a month, and Thursdays on early evenings generally gave me the best results (I used this comic. My other comic isn't very popular llD;; )

I guess everyone has there own posting schedule.
What matter most is when do people find time to read.
A long as they read it, that's fine with me.

I try to post on wednesday. But since I have no buffer and a full time job with changing schedule I tend to be flexible with that. As long as I post weekly, I'm happy!

I agree with this. I post three days a week and my viewership changes quite regularly. But for whatever reason I always end up with a large number of views at the end of each month. I guess most people pick the end of the month to catch up on there favorite comics.

Wow, such a lot of interesting responses! Thank you for your insight, everyone I guess it's really not that important, as long as one is consistent with the schedule promised to the audience... I find interesting that bit about the end of the month being more productive tho. I guess it's the best time for special announcements and promotions and whatnot, since more people will see it.

It all boils down to "keep the content coming at a consistent pace", I am seeing :_D Nice to keep that in mind.

I think the time of day really has something to do with it, because for professional bloggers, they track that and it always comes out that many of them post new content on weekdays, just before people go to work (because, it seems, that people like checking their email and stuff as the first thing they do in the mornings).

So I was really curious how things have been going here on tapastic. Is there a way to track this stuff? Like how Google Analytics tracks differents stats on your website? So far all they're tracking is the number of likes and new subscribers per day. I think they should get into the time of day more so that we creators can really reach the largest audience possible.

I agree about the time of day being tracked! I post on Sundays because it's convenient for me, but I still haven't decided what time to post. I think I'm aiming for 10pm GMT though, as that seems to be the time when there's been a surge of activity in the past week. I think that's 3pm PST?
