Beta readers for novels are very common, but I was wondering how common it is for comics? Novels are very different beast and let’s face it, most webcomic readers are writing by the seat of their pants. But if you could do a whole comic script in say, a screenplay format, how well would something like that go over? Have any of you tried this? What format did you use? How did getting feedback go? What system did you use for getting/ responding to beta readers. Let me know below!

I do not have a beta reader, but the screenplay format, since I'm familliar with it, is the inspiration for how I write my comic scripts. The only exception being my first episode, which was written in what I call "Panel Format." In that I arrange the panels, the text and a brief description of the action accompanying it. Is that something people actually do?

I've asked for comments on comic scripts, either from other writers or friends.
I've done more screenplay format scripts for school, but I tend to be pretty loose with my notes since they're mostly just to remind me.
