BRAG, huh? ...That actually sounds kinda fun
The Round Table Chronicles is an intriguing, modern take on Arthurian legends. They say that King Arthur will rise once more from the Isle of Avalon when Britain is in great need - but is Arthur really the important one? His true strength lied in the Knights of the Round Table, so what if THEY are the ones that the world truly needs to save the day?
Our story focuses on Thade Sloan, a college student who is trying to take control of his life away from his parents, who stumbles upon a man named Cassian White. Cassian is a smooth talker with a temper...who also can't age and spontaneously bleeds from the neck. A neck wound that is much like the one Sir Gawain received in a story concerning the Green Knight. What's even more concerning than that, though, is that there are people following them wherever they go. One of those stalkers has tried to kill Cassian before...and Thade may be his next target.
Why I love this novel
1) The dialogue. I really work hard to make it fun and as realistic as possible. My characters are sarcastic, witty, emotionally developed, and...just generally awesome. Like, come on, they're endearing as hell.
2) My villains. ...Well, they're not really villains. I mean, they do some BAD stuff, but come on! They have reasons! They have needs! They just want love! ...And...world domination! Or whatever? Is that too much to ask?!
3) The fantasy. The magic is subtle in this book (except for when it is there to make the protagonists' lives MISERABLE!), but it's fun to play with.
4) The MYSTERY. I LOVE putting little hints here and there for what is going to happen. On a re-read, hopefully you'll go "OH! OH I GET IT NOW! THAT WAS TOTALLY THERE THE WHOLE TIME!" Who doesn't love that?
5) The nerd. I did my research. I LOVE Arthurian legend, and I am loving putting my own spin on the characters' interpretations.
