i feel like cutting a chapter / scene into parts is different to a cliffhanger tho
like i try to end my chapters on cliffhangers - that means things like introducing a new character, putting a character in danger, or in any way dropping a character into high tension or bringing up at least one big question people want answering. when jane the virgin (SPOILERS) ends their season with michael being somehow alive, thats a cliffhanger (acc the end of every jtv episode is a cliffhanger, its a telenovela after all)
on the flipside, having a regular dialogue scene chopped up into three weeks isnt necessarily cliffhangers - even if you have pageturn hooks at the end of each update, which is a really good tactic no good reader is allowed to complain abt, theyre still too small to me to be considered cliffhangers...
so basically the ppl commenting that are wrong and need to stop whinging. it might just be a webtoons thing? ive heard ppl complain a lot abt episode length there. on tapas ive only really seen people be very understanding about slow page rates - ive never had comments like that. at least know that it means theyre on the edge of their seat, eh?
