Comments or Likes? Let the War Begin!

I just really wanna know everyone's perspective on this. I like LIKES and all but I am way more interested in hearing what people have to say about the comic. To be honest, I sometimes just inadvertently click the Like button, but I feel that a comment is always more genuine and thoughtful.

But what do you guys think?

Oh and yes, since I am posting this question, I myself would like to advocate more for comments so I'll post my comic below for people to look at and see if they like it. Post your comics below as well, and I will comment on the ones I like the most!

Comments are far more rare and typically hold more value as well (like a one word "cool!" or something I see as having similar value to a like, but if they take the time to write a short sentence ) so I definitely prefer those

Likes are nice little dopamine rushes, but ultimately not super substantial imo.

I was beyond nervous when I posted the first chapter to my novel, then I got a comment from someone who wasn't a friend that said they really liked my story.

That alone motivated me to want to keep writing and not disappoint them!

Dunno that this is shaping up to be much of a war. XD Comments. Comments all the way. Likes are fine, but they are cheap. I had someone comment with a simple crying face on one of my pages (it was a sad scene), and it means the world to me that someone is having enough feels about something that I made that they will voluntarily go to the trouble of replying and leaving a comment. Even if that comment is an emoticon.

Though I'll never underappreciate a like, I prefer comments. It just feels good to have people telling you they like your story.

Likes are nice, I love likes too but comments motivate me so much more. It’s like people transferred me some of their power to work on my comic more

Both because it shows recognition of your work, interaction from your subs and read what your subs say about your story and/or characters.

I like the comments that talk about my characters and the situations they get into or give jokes about it XD. If no comments, as least the updates were shown by the likes. Besides, both do get you story in popular and/or trending tabs

I believe comments boost updates more? So like, objectively, they might be better. Though, I'll take anything! Just happen if folks are interacting.

Likes are transient and meaningless, comments display you what your readers THINK or FEEL.

At least comments give me something useful, readers offering me their insight, telling me if they enjoyed my story...those actually help. Likes...maybe they'll get a girl to the trending page or something but that shouldn't be motivation to get them.

Comments for sure. Even if they are negative. They take 10 times more effort than liking.

Comments are far greater than likes. It's easy to hit the like button. But commenting on someone else's work takes time, but it's better that way. It shows people that you anticipate their work and are paying attention in some form or fashion:

I enjoy both. I enjoy the fact that people really enjoy my work but I would love to hear the witty remarks and inciteful thoughts in the comment section more. I want to engage with my fans more!

Comments!!! But I do love likes. Both keep me motivated to keep going.

This is exactly why when I view others' work I try to leave a comment on something I noticed/stuck with me. Comments are free and people like them. And I'm usually a busy body anyway. The only time I don't is if I end up seeing it while I'm out running an errand or if I'm in the middle of cooking lol.

(though it is harder on novels because usually i save those for when I'm working out, cause my phone reads them to me (I'm dyslexic))

I like my likes
I enjoy my subs
But comments, comments is what drives me.

Having a story means that I have something to say. Something to tell the world.
And getting a response on that is the reason I shout out my story into the world wide void.

Subs. I feel that people who sub on their own want to follow the story. I don’t have preference between likes and comments, as imo whatever peeps are comfortable with.
