I don't think they have it "so easy" though. They've been here longer and struggles to updates their stories each day/week/months for their subscribers. It's not good to look down on their hardworks with a "so easy", IMHO.

But still, I wish you good luck with your webcomics! Slowly but steady, hook that subscribers with your stories!

I agree with @enka923, of course there will always be series that get luck but the majority of popular series have worked very hard to get to where they are and we shouldn't devalue their efforts.

Thanks. I understand. I mean, they work hard for their comics too, bu the thing is that there are other good artist that don't have the hance to shyne, because the main panel of the page is populated with "popular users" work only. This let's a very dificult chance for the good artist to shyne properly. I don't say their job is bad, because anything can be good or bad, but what I mean is that there a great artist, people who have a creative desing in they comics, people who have an amazing story, or simply have talent, but don't get the propper support. That's all.

like, i dunno. most popular artists on this site are there due to long, hard work. even when someone posts their comic here, and instantly gets tonnes of subs, its often because theyve been putting in the work to develop a fanbase elsewhere. they all started as little people.

that said, theres definitely a need for more community support among smaller creators, its always a good thing for us to support and encourage eachother. I'll be looking through this thread, and if anyone wants to check out my comic, here it is:

The "popular artists" all started out there too. Webcomics are a long con of slowly building an audience. Look at how long most of those popular artists have been posting. Artists who continue to make good consistent work and keep doing that will eventually grow to be one of those "popular artists" that's just how it works. "The system" isn't actively trying to bury anyone.

Are you serious?? That's not a very fair way to put it at all.

A common misconception in making webcomics (or anything really) is that you're going to be an overnight sensation; that's just not how it works.

You shouldn't make comics to be rich.
You shouldn't make comics expecting to become insanely famous overnight (if ever).
You can't compare someone else's success to your own.

You work hard, you love what you do, and you will get results. But it will take time. It's not fair to talk about older (as in been here for a while) artists like they're these magical demi-gods that just snapped their fingers to make fame appear. If anything, they're ROLE MODELS. They worked hard. They had talent. They had a story to tell. They were creative. And they did well. Just like you will, as long as you're patient.

Bring attention to comics with under 200 subscribers and /or pimp your own under 200. The under 200 subscribers rule to try and bring out the overlooked comics. Dude! Great idea, plus I think it's kind of nice of you to bring newcomers together like this! We need a more stable connection for upcoming artists to be able to collaborate (which not many know how to do like the more popular artists) also.

Majority of the artists who are big here though, my friend, are mainly big because they brought followers over from outside comic websites. Either from Tumblr, Deviantart, Instagram, etc. They should be admired more than looked at as like fierce competition. Everybody at the end of the day is just trying to art a little.

Since this is really just a hobby for me i don't really begrudge those with more popular titles here on this site.

My little comic is stuck at 5 subscribers. I'm pretty sure its b/c i don't update as often as most other people here.

I don't think such a community is necessary. I myself am a pretty small creator and I think I'm in a good place since I've only been making comics for seven months.

Having the little guy get instant recognition sounds good on paper. You work hard, you get a reward, but that's all it is. Good on paper. People would still be clamoring for attention just like now because there are so many new creators just starting up.

Best we all can do is keep our chins up. Enjoy what you have now and all the good work you're adding to the world. If at least one other person is reading it regularly, that's already a success. And even if there's not, you made something that wasn't there before and that's also a success. Don't worry, be happy.

Yeah I dont think is really easy to make an audience, also the top posters here mostly do slice of life things that are very popular, if you doing ....punk horror, your audience will be smaller (but that doesnt mean you will be least succesful)
