I used to name my chapters as I wrote but fell out of the habit. Now I started naming them because I like that the titles can allude to what will happen in the "Next Episode" thing shown on Tapas. My favorite title is my first one, though, which is "A Feathered Thing With Teeth." I'm waffling on the title of an upcoming chapter, and not sure if it's going to be "A Sister's Love" or "A Throne of Lies" so we'll have to see when we get there which one sticks, but that's my second fave.

It depends on the work in question, but typically I'll number them for the filing system and title them based on the subject of the chapter.

With numbers, mostly. Though up until last year, I used to work out chapter names in synergy with the content of the chapter. I might walk back into that habit someday though. But I also enjoy the simplicity attached with numbers. You move from one place to the next, at ease! ^^

I name them, but now that I have over 50, it's getting harder to name them.

The story I am writing now requires me to name the chapters because there's a playlist I listen to when I write.

for the last arc I have names named with some Shakespeare related themes so the readers can get a hint on the plot. Chapter names are part of the story its summary in anut shell

Oh love to name my chapters ! I Already got a name for most of those that aren't even written yet x)
I'm about to finish the 3 one, it's called "Free as a bird"

I've been naming my comic pages since I started making webcomics in 2004, my rationale being that it makes specific pages easier to find.

They're just numbers on Tapas, but I do name them in my head. If I ever got to print the book, I'd probably name them there!

My Arcs and chapter always get a name. I just don't see why you wouldn't. XD

I use both. Numbers indicate the order of the chapters so readers instantly know where the story is at, and titles tell something about the chapter. Chapter titles are 2-3 words tops, and are usually named rather enigmatically. But as the story unveils itself they start to make sense.

I have chapter names on the Page 1 of it, but because the title would get smushed it's left out of the episode selection. I love naming things far too much and they're no exception - currently only Reminder of Time is up, but among the titles on the script there's Tales of Terror, The Bitter Bittern and Flying off the Handle. Puns are great.

I use a number system, but I call my chapters "Files" instead. I thought it was a somewhat creative way to present it without having to put effort into making unique titles for each chapter!

I used to write chapter names, but then I found that I kinda had trouble naming them, or the names were just bad, so yeah, I stopped.

I usually write the number of the episode... it doesn't seem easy to me to find a title... my episodes are short... don't know if the title would somehow spoil the story... but now... after thinking about this, maybe it would help... I do read the titles and think about them... thank you for your help (even though this wasn't your first purpose...)

I always name my chapters. But I'll usually have a number in front like 1 - Eternity or something like that in the manuscript.

I never name them by chapter and numbers, but both.

Like first with the word "page", then a number, and then a title.

Like this title:

I name my chapters because it makes them more charming. It also helps set up what the chapter is about.

I always name my chapters.

Sometimes, it's simple, just a word or two, a keyword to help identify a chapter. Others might be made from a fun out of context line from the chapter.

One of my favorites is "You pulled what out of the toilet?" :joy:

I think it helps the readers find where they last left off. Plus, they're attention-grabbing, and we need all the attention we can steal from the reader.

I name all my episodes. I don't know, I like it when people name their episodes, and I also like to name mine. Originally I wanted every episode name to be named after a song, but since my comic is most likely going to be very long (give or take maybe about 125 episodes), I knew i was going to run out of songs eventually lmao.

So I just decided to name my chapters (like, sub-seasons i guess) after songs.

It's doubtful I would do this for future comics though. It seems fitting to do this with my current one, but not for any of the other ones I have planned (probably bc they're gonna be a lot longer)
