I always read comics on the desktop (laptop or computer) since college. But reading comics on print surpasses reading on desktop and phone.

Digitally: Desktop. Most of the social media apps I use are desktop too.
More accessable options for like extension browser text reader, etc.

But prefer more on paper. There is no bright back lite bugging my eyes.

I prefer the app, but on my iPad so it’s not so small. The phone makes it hard to read comics sometimes because some fonts are unreadable, I don’t think everyone thinks about mobile readers when making their comics :sweat_02: This is also why I read less comics, because I can’t easily read them on my phone

I love reading a good old fashioned book, but unfortunately I have carpal tunnel syndrome and cannot hold a heavy book for hours on end anymore, so I've been forced to read books on my iPad using Kindle. I can't think of the last time I attempted to read my Far Side or Calvin and Hobbes "complete collection" books because they're so heavy. It really sucks losing the strength in my hands, because I used to be able to pull car batteries out just by grasping the top with one hand

Yeah I can imagine that sucks real bad. Especially in your line of work.

for me personally, I always prefer to read it on my desktop! Some comics I've read really makes the art look great on my desktop compared to on my phone which is a bit on the small side

I prefer desktop because I'm old-fashioned, lol. But apparently the vast majority of Tapas' readerbase uses the app.

(Might be why so few of them are on these forums...)

My line of work is largely responsible for it. Some day, when it gets too hard to live with, I will have the surgery. I've heard so many bad things about the surgery (didn't work, made things worse, etc) that I'm in no hurry.

Smartphone: easy to use , quick access

Desktop: better viewing experience, bigger screen

That's how I feel too, thank you! They both have their good and bad points.

Definitely desktop for me - I only use the phone if I can't do it some other way.

I typically read on desktop. If there is an option, I will read a comic on a mobile website instead of an app but I read Tapastic webcomics on the app. The desktop makes the art easier to see.

:sparkles: posting this here in case anyone else wants to answer :sparkles:

I'm a "both" person, really. Which one I pick is based on convenience. I'll use the app when I'm away from home, and I'll use my laptop/desktop to read any other time.

Desktop is great for larger images and traditional style comics, and gives a semi-immersive experience while phones are best for the scrolling format and suit the ADHD/binge readers or really busy reader who prefers to scroll fast through a story - not that its a bad thing, but I noticed I slow down with a larger screen, yet I can get through more comics w/o distractions on my phone, as I work on my laptop. Choices, choices, lol!

Bonus: I only watch YouTube on my phone, just before bed. Hate watching on my laptop bc it's too big, believe it or not XD

I also feel like the comic format is less distracting on a phone. :grinning:
I like watching YouTube on my tiny phone screen too, for whatever reason.

Both, but have made the switch to mobile web browser from the app on my new phone as the app borked on my old phone and I didn't trust for my new one
