Hello!

Just to let you know, there are not very many readers on these forums here... so I'm not sure how many will see and respond to your question. But I'll answer your question. lol

I'm a comic creator on Tapas. I don't like phone apps, but I try to make sure I follow Tapas' guidelines on things that will affect how my work is viewed. For instance, Tapas advises us to keep our dialogue font at a MINIMUM of 19pt. It's kinda big, but it accommodates readers who use their app. It also means I can't make tiny panels or too-small drawings on a page.
For me, it's more important that I keep to a workflow that is print-friendly, as I plan to physically publish in the future. So, I kinda do my own thing, keeping some regard for mobile users, but really keeping to how I want the story to be told.

Overall, I prefer desktop, as it's just how I'd rather view people's work. :>

I prefer reading on desktop.
However, to make it readable on mobile devices, I still have to make the text larger and less dense in the comic, even though this sacrifices some of the aesthetics.

Thanks for answering!
Yeah, as soon as I posted this I realized, hmm... I think most people here are content creators...
And it is important how comic pages appear different depending on which screen you view it. I've noticed the difference myself in font size and page format!

I prefer reading on the app. I don't have a desktop lol

I prefer to use Safari and view it on my phone, even though Tapas has broken the site trying to force the app down my throat. I fat out refuse to download the app, mainly because of this.

That's understandable. I think I tried to use my phone's browser at one point too, but it didn't work very well. Thanks!

Hehe, you're absolutely right. Nothing beats having a comic book in your hands! :grinning:

I always read comics on the desktop (laptop or computer) since college. But reading comics on print surpasses reading on desktop and phone.

Digitally: Desktop. Most of the social media apps I use are desktop too.
More accessable options for like extension browser text reader, etc.

But prefer more on paper. There is no bright back lite bugging my eyes.

I prefer the app, but on my iPad so it’s not so small. The phone makes it hard to read comics sometimes because some fonts are unreadable, I don’t think everyone thinks about mobile readers when making their comics :sweat_02: This is also why I read less comics, because I can’t easily read them on my phone

I love reading a good old fashioned book, but unfortunately I have carpal tunnel syndrome and cannot hold a heavy book for hours on end anymore, so I've been forced to read books on my iPad using Kindle. I can't think of the last time I attempted to read my Far Side or Calvin and Hobbes "complete collection" books because they're so heavy. It really sucks losing the strength in my hands, because I used to be able to pull car batteries out just by grasping the top with one hand

Yeah I can imagine that sucks real bad. Especially in your line of work.

for me personally, I always prefer to read it on my desktop! Some comics I've read really makes the art look great on my desktop compared to on my phone which is a bit on the small side
