My friends definitely read it! One was the sole reason as to why I continued it after abruptly ending it in 2012. I've told my partner how the story is going to end (after an oath of secrecy of course) and she frequently helps me out if I ever need suggestions or assistance in getting past parts of the story that I can't figure out how to advance. Then theres always the indulgent'I think this voice would be a good choice for x, what do you think?' I always subject my friends to. because who doesn't like assigning things like voices to their characters.
As for family, no. My family's native language is spanish - so they're going to have a tough time reading a comic written in english and understanding the plot so far. Not only that, I don't want to deal with teasing comments bc they're pretty 'harsh' teasing comments and I don't have the energy to deal with it. My comic isn't exactly something I'd happily share with my parents - on the count of the violence and cuss words sprinkled here and there c:>
My mom seemed totally surprised at the fact I had drawn over 100 pages and that my comic has been an ongoing project since 2012. I just told her that that was what I was working on with my time rather than high school homework HAHA.
