Fantasy writers, what's an element of your world/story that you're really proud of coming up with?

I'll go first: my magic system!!
I'm really happy with how it turned out and I think it's pretty intuitive and unique.

I'm pretty proud of my conlangs (constructed languages). The main language, Agalatian, has over 1500 words so far and is fairly functional. imo I think the writing system is pretty unique too.
It's gonna be featured quite often throughout my comic, especially on the first page.

probably the world structure and it's magic system! i kinda doubt it's unique or anything but as a sucker for world building putting it all together has been more than fun~

Im very proud of my magic system based on memory. The whole story revolves around it. people can share their memory with others, experience the memory of their ancestors, transform into monsters due to a deeply held grudges, or exist as spirits.

Nice. As for me, I am satisfied with my idea of how characters gained their powers, and none with powers are born with them but earned it from the blessings of their gods, and other mystical entities. However, once they get their powers, their freedom is stripped away and that's what I like about it; consequences. Here are those who are chosen to be blessed by their deity and raised to serve until they get replaced by their future children:

At the risk of spoilers, I'm proud of the growth my main character, Daecon, will go through. He started out as an arrogant rich prick who was forced into a world of shapeshifters and magic that he didn't even know about, and he ends up being a kind and benevolent leader of this world who tries to broker peace between the different magical races.

Another element is that the shapeshifters are all male, yet they reproduce. How they do so is explained in the story, but it involves the use of involuntary human surrogates. The humans are well compensated, but they are still unwilling (indeed, they are unwitting - it happens without them ever knowing). When Daecon finds out about this he is unhappy. He will eventually discover why shapeshifters cannot reproduce on their own (hint: It is the Shapeshifters' own fault, their actions thousands of years ago resulted in a curse being placed on them) and he becomes determined to undo this, both to right previous wrongs and to stop using humans.

Unlike general fantasy stories which come with world maps and countries etc. Mine is grounded to just a few locations such as a remote village. In contrast to traveling to many majestic places, mine explores more corners of a location. My readers can see things from a simple villager's perspective, and a lot of time feels like they're tourists sightseeing everything.

Villagers are only just about 110 people, and it's not big place, so they can persistently be around in the backdrop. You can even recognize some of them even they're not be introduced and forever stay in the background.

The currency. It seems minuscule and stupid, but dang darn it, I hurt my head coming up with something unique! I even have a legend I follow for I know how much it is compared to "real world dollars" for I understand how much my characters are spending.

My novel is a bit of fantasy but mostly sci-fi.

I guess my favourite element is a power called Frost Ash that the main character - Zov'ha possesses. She neither understands it, nor is able to control it. But basically it is ice so cold that it burns things to ash.

For me, I would say my mythos, especially in the religious aspect. I really love creating divine systems and practices of faith, legends that are full of misinformation, and weaving historical aspects into the current setting. (I know I'm weird, I just find it fascinating!)

All my gods are from pantheons, (drawing loosely from Greek and Norse deities). I love to make them not human per say, but imperfect in their own way. heavily using the idea that gods exist only because the mortals want them to and they are shaped by faith, becoming what is wanted of them, not always what is needed.

My comic is a blend of fantasy and modern. One world building detail I'm still really happy with is health potions are sold and marketed like energy drinks.

Crimson Minotaur (Red Bull), Creature (Monster), and Bard Star (Rock Star) are the brands.

Also item shops are convenience stores.

A believable world! It's hard to create a world full of monsters and not make it feel a bit off. I'm just glad mine feels lived in and full of different people.

A whole bunch of stuff, the currency with exchange systems between different countries.

I also enjoyed crafting food culture for different groups of people, which each considering their access to ingredients, their workload, time and budget.

The irregular calendar because of gravitational anomalies also is something I loved crafting.

And I could keep writing thousands of little things.

I'm still in the early stages of (re)developing my fantasy story as it'll be based on a story I wrote when I was a kid but I'm also really happy with the first draft of the magic system I'm working on. Basically, the entire system is based on a tight net of magic lines draped over the world like some sort of blanket. It is invisible to the naked eye for most, but the ability to see it can be trained. This blanket is not only the source of magic -magicians and other trained users can wield lines for varying purposes- but it is also the source of life; organic life sprouts where lines become loose. However, the blanket of lines or 'the net' also separates the world from the world of void beneath it which is the domain of death. It is the job of this grim-like entity to restore the loose lines and -therefore- to take lives so the net does not collapse in on itself. This also gives way to various religions and this lore has various connections with the characters within the novel.
