Just want to get another conversation going? ~:)

Do you guys have a favorite villain (preferably from a webtoon/graphic novel/manga but films and novels are cool too!)?

From graphic novels, I have to say, the Clown Prince himself: the Joker. His mad yet sensible psychology, his embodiment of evil, his girlfriend Harley lol...he's just such an interesting character to follow! And of course, I love Harley Quinn and her psychology as well. Her character design is absolutely brilliant.

In manga, although many of them turned out to be antiheroes later on, Shishio and Sojiro from Rurouni Kenshi (esp Sojiro who has such a terrible past); Sesshomaru from Inu Yasha (love his relationship with Rin); Vegeta from DBZ (official badass); Uchiha Madara from Naruto (love his character design and relationship with Hashirama); and a lot more I can't think of at the moment. I'll probably add more to the thread when I remember them haha

My favorite villain is Kuvira from Legend of Korra. Find her character quite interesting.

It's hard to argue with the Joker, he's the perfect antithesis to Batman.

That's really the key to a great villain, making them a polar opposite from your main character. That just invites the most delicious conflict. If I had to pick another, Lex Luthor would be it. Anyone without superpowers capable of squaring off against Superman is for real.

Totally! We'll have to include Batman as an official badass then too since he's able to square off with Superman as well! But then again, he's not a villain lol

SPOILER ALERT FOR THOSE WHO HAVEN'T WATCHED BERSERK!

I really like Griffith ^w^ he's so despicable after what he did and it knocked me for a loop. And he's just so Damn beautiful xD

I like Hades from Disney's Hercules 'cause he was always entertaining. Haha.

My favorite villian is Darth Vader, from episodes 4,5,6. He was always so calm...sort of like "I'm not Evil, it's my day job." Gotta love that. No over the top ranting, no crazy wild antics, just Heavy sigh, guess you have to go to motivate the others.

I guess it's Maleficient from Sleeping Beauty. because I had no other villain in mind right now. I was so scared by her when I was younger, but now I just see how marvelous she is. Great animation, nice powers and design, beautiful voice and acting that scared me when I was 7.
Perfect job, then.

I liked the Red Lotus too from Korra season 3. Especially what they did when they are with the airbenders, I thought the worst could happen.

For me I really like the Joker too. Him for comics.
For series, I Bill Cipher from Gravity falls pretty funny/intimidating.
And for movies I think also the Joker especially in Dark knight.

The Riddler from the Batman movie - as he is played by Jim Carrey;)
But i tend to like all Asgardian "Loki" villains as well (since that's my name!)

So many great villains to choose. But I usually prefer those that were not supposed to be villains, but end like one
Movies: Jack Torrance from The Shining
Comics: Legion (X-men)
Serie: Ben (Lost)
Manga: Kira

When it comes to movie villains...

Ditto. Nicholson did such a great job acting like a lunatic.
Though I also never get tired of watching Tim Curry as the Lord of Darkness in Legend.

Anime: Hmmm...maybe Frieza from DBZ. (Japanese version mainly, though his Kai dub voice was great.)
Manga: Haven't read enough to know. Though Zapan in Battle Angel Alita was pretty fascinating.
Comics: ....again, really haven't read enough to make a call. Joker maybe based on the few DC comics I've read...which brings me to...
Cartoon shows: The Joker and Mr. Freeze in Batman: The Animated Series. They were just...perfection, though for very different reasons.
TV shows: ...errr....Gyp Rosetti in Boardwalk Empire was pretty damn intense to watch.
....I'd like to make a webcomic villain pick, but there's too many good ones. XD

Yeah, Maleficent scared the shit out of me as a kid! That part where she's in the fireplace...oh man 0__0 Now that's good character design.

@raintowns Hades is the life of that movie! I read that the animators had one hell of a job because he talked so quickly though lol

So many great villains so far, for me, I'll have to say The Lich from Adventure Time. He's just so dark and OP and I normally don't like characters that are overpowered, but for him, I will make an exception.

Kaede -- At times complete monster, at other times so sweet. Highly complicated, and at times freightening. Also extremely tragic.

Outside of comics, Neuromancer. Not the book, the main character the book is named after.

2 years later

My favorite villain is Pitch black for the Guardians.
I really like his back story, how he was actually a good guy, but got consumed. And he too, is just loney and wants to be recognized. ( not really loved, but feared ) but still knowing that he excists too. making a difference.

Probably Hiro kala, the logic he uses and the lengths he will go to is just really fascinating.

favourite villain damn that's a hard one for me since I have horrible memory XD

but well in manga I would have to say Friend from 20th century boy, the cult leader who has psychic god like powers that ends up controlling the strings of the whole world just to get to mars, the chimera ant king from Hunter x Hunter is a certified bastard XD, also and Honorable mention of the bastards of the "will" in Helck.

in comics (don't read much) but fucking Lucifer morning-star in sandman is the best Lucifer period, no discussion, no debate and you are wrong if you don't agree and you should feel bad.

form the W-C's Hannah from "A Better Place", girl you ain't no god, you ain't no devil, you are a petulant and dumb child who played with fire and now it's time for you too get burned.

from the world of anime I have to give it to the bastard of Beelzemon, selling his soul to the devil for power and killing one of the best characters while turning another one into a catatonic mess(god digimon 3 was dark man XD), also mentioning the bastards that are the anti spiral race from giant dick reference tengen toppa gurren lagann.

from the world of cartoons I give it to the lost dark soul of Ebon from static shock (wished they made a rebut of this one) and to the smooth one eyed mother F'err of Slade from the OG TT

and in movies I would give it to mister always forgotten, even though he played everybody like they where a fucking fiddle, Zemo from Captain A the 3rd. also Honorable mention to the glorious mother fucker of Killmonger (if I don't mention him people I know will have my head man D= ) and the crazy bitch from inception is what I would call an american yandere >XC (keep her away from me)
