I submitted a first chapter to a comic I made to a contest just now, I barely squeaked in before the deadline, so I didn’t have time to get any beta readers or second opinions. It’s a lot of money for the winner(s) as well.
This contest has judges that WILL give you feedback, so now I’m nervous to see what they’ll say… I would love if a few people would be willing to look it over and be honest with me about it.
I have major imposter syndrome and I’ve grown to hate what I submitted within 24 hours even though I was happy with it initially. I would be happy to read/sub your work in exchange!

The comic is historical/Chinese fantasy Isekai themed.
I’m posting the link Here34.

Thank you in advance to anyone who views this!

Overall, this looks pretty solid. The art is nice, with well-integrated 3D and photo elements. The main font is maybe a little fancier than it needs to be, but it doesn't feel too out of place in a comic, and it's clear and readable. There are a few errors in the English, mostly grammar, but they don't harm the readability of the story. The twist is quite funny and clever.

If I had to pick out one weakness... and we'll see if the judges agree with me on this, it's that pretty much the whole comic is the setup to a story rather than a story. There's not a lot of sequential panels showing your ability to tell a story with images; it's mostly a story told in text and illustrated with images. In comics competitions, I'd expect that to get marked down by judges... but it might be that since the story does lead up to the twist and it's nicely presented, it does well anyway in this case? Best of luck!

First of all, OMG!!! THE ART LOOKS SO GREAT!! IM SO JEALOUS OF YOU!!!! :weary:

Also, may I know if this is like a prologue or something? because im a big fan of xianxia novels and manhua. from the intro alone, I'm very intrigued in reading it!

I cant say anything much because it seems like an intro for now rather than the whole story and i hardly see much on what you can do with the characters in the different (historical chinese world) settings.

All i can say is that, BEST OF LUCK AND I HOPE YOU WILL BE ONE OF THE WINNERS AS WELL!!!

The good: Nice art and presentation is well done. You took some time drawing what is drawn.
The bad: It's a slide show, not a comics. It reads like a powerpoint with no actual storytelling elements.
