I recently picked up a copy of bravely default and now I'm procrastinating on my comic book......:laughing: I'm putting in work into my next episode of 'nightmare heroes'.... It's gonna be 30 or more pages... I've worked harder on this next chapter than all the rest. It's just so difficult to put down the videogames :joy: anyone else know the feeling? I'm sure some of you guys agree

Yeah, it's hard to make myself focus on my writing sometimes. I do it in spurts.

Same. I’m stuck atm as I have a ton of projects outside of writing. My manuscript is done but I wanted the artwork to coincide but it takes time…

Yeah... It's never a good idea to rush it. Sometimes you get away with it but having a strict deadline is stressful

Doing anything with art/writing is not what you do, it's what you don't do. You don't play video games to get it done. You don't go out with friends to get it done. Successful artist make art any time they can. This don't worry about it until you get paid is a nice way of never getting paid. No one can force you to get it done but yourself, but putting obstacles in your way isn't going to help.

Hustle culture is bullshit pushed by corporations to keep people from getting paid what they're really owed. Working as an unpaid content monkey for a tech company like Tapas or Webtoon using "Someone has to win the lottery" thinking is dumb.

Make a comic for yourself in a way that ensures that you want to keep doing it. If you start to get some traction THEN start treating it as a 9 to 5.

I don't care about money lol I'd never get the views necessary to make a buck anyway I'm just doing it Bec I love my comic book and I love drawing

I sometimes feel like I want to spend more than 1-2 hours a day playing games.
But I always feel guilty if I don't make progress in my work, so I end up using my rest time to work on my comic. It's not the healthiest approach, but I always try to make up for the lost work time.
